Derby Arms Jam nights - Old account The Derby Arms is a friendly pub, situated at the junction of Allerton Road and Menlove avenue a stones throw from John Lennons old home.

Some of the older clientel say he used to drop in, there is no documented evidence of this but it is a fair assumtion that he probably used it as it was in easy reach. Recently a group of friends have started an acoustic night. It is very informal and all are welcome. So if you play an instrument or like to sing or even if you just want to watch and listen get to the Derby on a Tuesday night from 9 Guitars are provided and usualy Kelly the manageress supplies refreshment.

Hi I have not looked at these posts for a long time. Today looking through them, it takes me back to those happy nights spent in the Derby, srrounded by such great people. It would be very hard to recreate the atmosphere generated. As I have said in a previous post, I've been to many jam nights in various places , but those nights in the Derby were somehow special.
Very impromtu often disorganised but magic. In this new year I would like to thank all those who took part and made these fond memories possible, and to remember a great guy and a great musician, who is sadly not with us any more.
Well all have a great New Year. I hope you enjoyed those nights as much as I did ...Love and Best Wishes to you all Ron

Just been looking through the vids and postings. Such a shame it had to stop. Ive been to lots of jam and open mike nights since the Derby finished. Not enjoyed any as much as the ones spent in the Derby....Regards and Best Wishes to all who took part. and fond memories of a very special guy who is no longer with us, A great musician with a great sense of humour .
