Important Announcement
After 31 years at the heart of Leicester’s music community, we must share the difficult news that The Shed will be closing, with our final night taking place on New Year’s Eve.
This decision has not been made lightly. We want to be clear that we have pursued every possible avenue to secure the venue’s future. Our team, management, and staff have all worked tirelessly, both publicly and behind the scenes, to keep The Shed operating. Despite these sustained efforts, we have reached a point where continuing is no longer viable.
While this is an incredibly hard announcement to make, we would like to place the emphasis on what The Shed has represented over the past three decades. For 31 years, it has been a space for live music, creativity, and community. It has supported emerging artists, hosted countless performances, and stood as a platform for Leicester’s cultural and alternative scenes.
It has been a privilege to contribute to the city’s musical landscape and to support so many musicians, promoters, audiences, and creatives. We are immensely proud of the history built within these walls and grateful to everyone who has been part of it.
As we approach our final night on the 31st December, we hope you will join us in recognising and celebrating everything The Shed has meant to so many people.
