Sad to be posting this after recently speaking so positively about our local independent business community and how much we love this area, but unfortunately The Assembly experienced a theft last night involving two individuals wearing balaclavas who entered the venue and stole the till.

Thankfully nobody was harmed and the incident was dealt with quickly.

We’re sharing a small section of CCTV simply to make other local businesses aware and to encourage everyone nearby to stay vigilant.

We still stand by everything we said about the brilliant local community and the overwhelming majority of people who support independent venues respectfully every week 🖤

If anyone recognises the individuals or saw anything suspicious in the area last night, please contact West Yorkshire Police quoting incident number 13260261231.

Huge thanks to everyone who has checked in on us today. Independent businesses put everything into places like this, and moments like these hit hard — but we’ll be open as normal 🙏🏾
