CLAY is a centre for artworks that test boundaries and artists whose practice is hard to define. CLAY supports risk, experimentation and interdisciplinary artwork. Building and evolving from the legacy of Live Art Bistro, CLAY has a bold ambition to be an Art Centre for Live and Interdisciplinary artwork. A building that provides space for artists to take risks in and experiment. Established in August 2019, CLAY is an arts space run by Jessica Sweet and Matthew Allen.​

We work with artists with both emerging and established practices. CLAY is:
- An experimental space
- A home for interdisciplinary artists
- A northern hub for live art
- Affordable working and making space for artists
- A space for professional and artistic development
- An arts venue, a bar, a social space
