Ey up lads. It is with a very heavy heart, that I must announce Psilo, my baby, is closing. Our last day of trading will be next Friday, the 28th of November.
Where to even begin. I hoped I’d never have to write this post. We have had an absolute fu***ng blast the last 3 and a half years, and I cannot tell you how proud I am and how much I have loved creating such an eclectic and inclusive little bar, serving great tunes and imaginative tipples everyday day of the week, all while providing a safe space for everyone. But unfortunately, in this current economic climate, we just can’t carry on anymore. We all know times are incredibly tough for independent business, bars have been shutting left right and centre for the last 2 years. I was hoping we could survive til the coming Christmas period, but costs in all areas are continuing to skyrocket, and we can just see no way it’s financially feasible to even continue into new year.
We want to thank every single person who has supported us, whether that’s by coming in or even just putting in a good word. It’s been an absolute rollercoaster, as is the Psilo way, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
We are having a big final party on Friday the 28th, phat discounts and likely a 6am (keep your eyes peeled) to help us send off this bar in the way it deserves. So come help us clear out the cellar and have one final boogie with us.
Small FYI, our other venue Stone Green Social in Meanwood is still up and running an will continue as planned, so please show it some love!
Genuinely, we only survived this long in such a rough time for Leeds hospo purely because of you guys and your support. I’m eternally grateful for the last 3 and a half years and all the memories people made in Psilo.
