Leeds Brewery on tour!
We were delighted to be able to do this collaboration brew with the fab people at Smugglers’ Trail in beautiful British Columbia. It’s a brilliant set up doing so much to promote cask beer in Canada and we were very well looked after! Looking forward to returning the favour and hosting you in Leeds some time to do one of your amazing recipes 🍺 cheers!
An Englishman walks into a bar downtown Vancouver and sees an enticing British ale on their cask engine. His interest piqued, he orders a pint and sips appreciatively at our own Flaskers Ale, quaffing the pint while he reminisces of home.
So what does the Englishman do? Why, he gets on the phone with none other than the Brewer of Leeds Brewing all the way over in jolly old England and tells him about his pint and BAM. Ladies and gentleman, we've got a Collaboration brew with !
With the help of one of our own brewers (also from Leeds!) it was settled in a matter of minutes, we'd to replicate as best we can their famous Leeds Pale Ale. After trading an arm and a leg for imported ingredients we were soon brewing, soaking up as much experience as possible in the form of tips and tricks that you can only get from an established cask ale brewery (don't worry i took notes) and chatted about the future of cask ale in all its forms.
Needless to say it was an absolute pleasure to host Leeds brewing for their first ever collab and we absolutely cannot wait until the kindness can be returned in the form of a Smugglers road trip!
The Beer: Brewed with 100% English malts and a blend of English and American hops, this pale ale is light, refreshingly balanced and boasts a delicate citrus floral nose with hints of herbal tea. 3.6% ABV | 34IBU
This brew is fresh on tap in the tasting room, so grab your mates and come on by!
