Attention up and coming bartenders!
Jake’s Bar is hiring! We are looking for two new bartenders to join our elite team of drinks slingers.
Jake’s Bar is a pillar of Call Lane, in the heart of the City’s bar scene. We are now in our 18th year, and our third year on the top 50 cocktails bars in the country (24th), along with being the oldest continually functioning distillery in Leeds city centre, and one of the most varied and eclectic backbars around. This is an excellent opportunity for any up and comers, wanting to expand their knowledge, refine their skillset, branch into distilling, and develop relationships and careers throughout the hospitality industry. We have a very diverse team with a slow staff turnover, and, down the line, opportunities for internal progression.
Available:
1x Part time bartender. 20-25h per week with the opportunity to pick up more. Some bar experience preferred, cocktail experience not essential (extensive training provided).
1x Full time bartender. 40-45h per week. Bar experience is essential, cocktail experience preferred. Extensive training is provided, but a workable knowledge of cocktail development and classics would be useful.
Both roles start at NMW, with a pay rise upon passing 3 month probation.
Duties for both roles: Day to day bartenders responsibilities. We open 7 days a week so must be prepared to work weekends, late night (latest close 4am + breakdown), and early mornings (deliveries from 7am). May include some long shifts, formal table service, late night partying and some barbacking (we all take a turn!).
Opportunities for both roles: Extensive training in all aspects of cocktails, spirits and service. Working with a diverse and knowledgeable team, great opportunities to learn. Monthly opportunities to develop and market your own cocktails. Opportunity to contribute cocktails to our award-winning menus. A functional training and knowledge of distilling and rectifying spirits and liqueurs. We almost always promote internally, so with time, there will be opportunities for progression.
