After nearly half a decade each behind the bar, pulling pints, sharing laughs and making memories, it’s sadly time for myself, Abbie (GM), and Lewis (AM) to say goodbye to The Eldon.
Between the two of us we’ve spent over ten years pottering around and grafting in this pub, and it’s been so much more than just a workplace. It’s been late nights and early mornings, busy weekends and quiet weekday chats, celebrations and commiserations – countless moments we’ll never forget. Above all, it’s been our favourite place for a very long time.
Looking back through these photos reminded us just how many ridiculous, brilliant and heart-warming memories this place has given us. From fancy dress nights and staff antics to the everyday laughs with our lovely locals – you’ve all helped make The Eldon what it is. (We thought we’d spare you all the embarrassment of posting your silly pictures so thought we’d just embarrass ourselves)
To everyone who’s walked through those doors, shared a drink, told us a story, celebrated something special or simply popped in for “just the one” (that was never just one)… thank you. To all our customers, staff, colleagues, managers, suppliers, and every friendly face we’ve met along the way – you’ve truly been the best part of it all.
We’ll really miss this place and the incredible community around it, but we’ll carry these memories with us for our next journey. We wish all our customers the very best – we won’t ever be strangers – and we’re sure you’ll give our successors the same warm welcome you gave us.
We will officially be leaving you lovely lot from the 1st April, and sadly this is no ‘April fools’..
All our love and genuine thanks for all your support and custom over the years. This pub and the people in it will always mean the most to us.
Over and out,
Abbie & Lewis 🤍
Cheers 🍺
