Internationally renowned saxophonist, Tony Kofi, is the guest feature at Leam-jazz this month. Born in Nottingham and introduced to a career in jazz by none other than Leam-Jazz regular Nick Hislam, Tony has picked up BBC and Parliamentary awards and been nominated for a MOBO. Musicians he has played with?....Joe Cocker, Harry Connick JR, Claude Deppa, Courtney Pine and Sam Rivers. One of Tony's main inspirations is Thelonious Monk and the set on the 16th will include several Monk numbers.... well-known or rarely heard. Backing him will be the regular Leam-Jazz house band...the Cliff Edge Trio. Support act sees the welcomed return of the Ullenhal Jazz Assassins, the workshop band run by Adrian Litvinof.

The second of the new season of quality jazz jam sessions is on Sunday March 6th. Kindly hosted by landlord Jonny Roden at the Town House in George Street in the Old Town in Leamington Spa, it runs from 5:00 till 8:00.
This month's guest artist is singer Peter Jones from London, whose second album, Utopia, has just been released. There will be a top quality rhythm section and 'real books' will be available in C, Bb and Eb. As always, all musicians are welcome to try their hand.
