Tom Young Friday 4 September at 20:00

Tom Young has been a student of the blues since first hearing the sounds of John Lee Ho**er and Howlin Wolf 30 years ago. Since then his studies have taken him from Chicago-style electric sounds, to Piedmont fingerpicking, Mississippi hill country and Delta slide. Playing lesser known songs from the giants of the genre, along with original compositions, Tom strives for authenticity in sound and spirit, while honouring the culture and history of this great art form.

Tom is well known at Southbound as part of Two Piece Blues.

Yes, we know that technically they are a three-piece outfit, but what’s in a name? Two Piece Blues play a selection of old Delta Blues tunes, they love a bit of Tom Waits, and they have a growing playlist of authentic originals. Plus a version of Dickey Betts’ Southbound to bring the house down!

Chris Gibbons Band Sunday 6 September at 16:00
