Overlooking the River Esk in the tranquil conservation village of Lasswade, the Paper Mill is a new all-day bar and restaurant offering superb service and a warm welcome. Drawing on the heritage of the old mill, this is a striking, yet informal destination, sympathetic to the industrial surroundings. Reclaimed materials and found objects add to the laid back feel, while a spacious outdoor terrace

leads down to the riverbank. Locals and visitors alike can pop in throughout the day to enjoy a fresh coffee and some home baked cakes, Sunday brunch with the papers, or an evening meal and carafe of wine on the terrace. Having trained in some of the best restaurants both home and abroad, our head chef is happy to get back to his roots, working with the seasons to create inventive, exciting and, above all, delicious dishes that won't cost the earth. With over two decade's worth of collective experience, we have built up strong links with acclaimed artisan producers, and are equally enthusiastic about supporting up-and-coming local suppliers. Vegetables are sourced locally to keep the food miles down, and we are wholeheartedly committed to supporting good husbandry and buying free range and organic produce wherever possible. The bar is home to an ever-changing assortment of beers, handpicked from the best Scottish breweries, along with a few of our British favourites and some premium guest ales from further afield.
