Melville Inn Pub and Hotel The Melville Inn is a welcoming country pub right in the heart of midlothian. We serve wonderful food Melville Castle sits to the south of the Inn.
(585)

This three-storey gothic styled castellated house has recently been restored. It replaced an earlier tower house built by Henry Dundas, the first Viscount Melville. A mile to the east of the Melville Inn are ancient fortification mounds known as Sheriff's Hall where there has long stood an old house in which George Buchanan is said to have written the "History of Scotland". A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
