🌟 A MILLION THANK YOUS 🌟

What a summer.
From Lanimers right through the World Cup and into the Clydesdale Summer Festival, this place has been proper incredible and it’s been an amazing summer for the Clydesdale.
Lanimers set the tone. The town was bouncing, the backyard was packed, and it reminded us why this pub sits at the heart of Lanark. Then the World Cup came along and the screens were full, the atmosphere was brilliant, and even when Scotland’s night didn’t go our way we still had a party to remember!
Then we threw ourselves into the Summer Festival. Local DJ weekend, Livestock, Vanish in the backyard, live music, karaoke, pop-up kitchens, and a Family Fun Day. We really tried to create something for everyone and we had some memories we’ll be talking about for a long time.
A million thank yous to everyone who came down, supported the weekends, ate the food, danced in the backyard, sang with Leanne, watched the bands, cheered the football, and just made the place feel alive.
Thank you to every DJ, every live act, every karaoke night, every pop-up kitchen, and every single person who worked it. Front of house, bar, kitchen, security, and everyone grafting behind the scenes. This didn’t happen by accident, it took a lot of effort from a lot of people to pull it off!
Thank you to Police Scotland and the Licensing Board for granting the licences that made these events possible. And a genuine thank you to our neighbours for putting up with the noise. We know it wasn’t always easy, and we appreciate your patience.
We learned a lot. What works, what doesn’t, and how much this town will get behind something if you put it on properly. Next year we’ll take all of that and come back bigger, better, and even more ready.

🍳 WE’RE HIRING – KITCHEN TEAM 🍳

It’s been a busy year at the Clydesdale and the kitchen has been right at the heart of it.

We’ve got more planned for the food side of the business. New menus, better consistency, and a kitchen that can keep up with how busy this place has become. To do that properly, we need more great people.

We’re looking for:

Chefs
Cooks
Kitchen Assistants

If you can work hard, keep your head when it’s busy, and take pride in putting good food out, we want to hear from you.
This is a proper working kitchen in a busy Lanark pub, from scratch cooking with real ingredients.
If you like being part of a team that’s building something rather than just clocking in, this could be a good fit.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT OUR KITCHEN

The kitchen is now back open this weekend.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday – full menu available as normal plus Sunday roast!

Protecting Children from Harm

One of the five key licensing objectives in Scotland is protecting children from harm.
It’s not just a box to tick — it’s something we take seriously!

That’s why some of our events recently have been over 18 only, including this Saturday’s Vanish Takeover in the backyard. When we’re running a full dance music event with a bigger, louder atmosphere, we need to make sure we can properly look after everyone on site. Keeping it adults-only lets us control the environment and prioritise safety. (sometimes looking after adults is hard enough)
We always put safety first. Whether it’s staffing levels, how the space is managed, or the type of event we’re putting on, we think carefully about who’s coming and how we can look after them.

But don't worry, next Saturday (29th August) we’re doing the complete opposite — a proper Family Fun Day. There’ll be inflatables, a bouncy castle, soft play, a penalty shoot-out, and a family BBQ. The backyard will be fenced off so we can keep a close eye on any little escape artists.

Different events need different approaches. Some days are for the party crowd. Some days are for families. Both matter to us, and both will always be run with safety as the top priority.

Our resident pub pup Broxi is assisting Jack from MB Fire and Security today with our fire safety upgrades.

Last week Jack installed 8 new outside power supplies to allow smooth event set up.

Jack, Martin and the MB team have worked around the clock behind the scenes to help us any time we call.

Always professional, keeping our customers and our pub safe.
