It’s that time of the month again for us to give a glimpse into what you could be enjoying at The Frazer Theatre in June.

From Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th June, Harrogate Gilbert and Sullivan Society are excited to bring Iolanthe, one of their favourite shows, to Knaresborough for the second time.
Iolanthe is a sparkling comic opera where mischievous fairies collide with the pomp and privilege of Parliament. When a half‑fairy idealist challenges the House of Lords for love—and reform—magic turns politics upside down, sparking romance, satire, and irresistible laughter. Packed with wit, charm, and enchanting music, it’s Gilbert & Sullivan at their most playful and pointed.
There will be performances at 7.30pm each evening.
Tickets are £18 for adults and £5 for students / under 16s

On Friday 19th June 2026, The Rod Stewart Songbook are delighted to be returning to the Frazer Theatre, Knaresborough.
Their spectacular theatre production is the ultimate homage to Sir Rod Stewart, featuring the sensational Pete McCall.

Tickets are £20 plus £2 booking fee.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.

On Thursday 25th June with the kind support of Buttercup Community Cafe, come and join Billy the Bard at the Frazer Theatre, with his unique style of music of Celtic rhythm and overtones.

He is a self taught guitarist and singer songwriter, poet and storyteller. He has worked extensively across Europe and the UK. Producer of two environmental CDs. Organising tours around Europe and founder of YME (Young Musicians Europe). Played Glastonbury Festival. He produced and presented his own radio show in Glasgow, 'Live and Local'. One of the original organisers of 'The Wicker Man festival' in Scotland. More recently he has played in Harrogate, Otley and surrounding area. He has lived off grid for many years and draws much of his inspiration from nature.

Tickets are £10 (booking fee applies).
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm

Last, but by no means least, in our line-up of characters is the Jailer played by Katie Pickering.

Maintaining order The Tower of London and keeping an eye on Blood and his gang. She is tough and feisty.

Tell Us About Your Character
------------------------------------
The jailer enjoys being in charge and making up the rules as she goes along, although the visiting rule just seems sensible if you want to avoid injury or tetanus.

What are the aspects of your character that you enjoy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get to be bossy and say rude words.

Do you have any favourite lines or scenes from the show?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. But I can't tell you what the line is. You will just have to come and find out for yourselves.

Why should people watch The Crown Jewels?
------------------------------------------------------------
Do you remember watching horrible histories as a child or reading the books and thinking they were hilarious but wishing they threw a few f bombs in there or bussoms? If so this is your kind of night out.

There are performances at 7.30pm from Wednesday 13th to Saturday 16th May plus a matinee performance on Saturday 16th May at 2.00pm.

Tickets are just £10 (£8 over 60/under 16/carer) and are available from https://www.frazertheatre.co.uk/events/the-crown-jewels-05-2026
