It is with genuine sadness that we announce our decision to close Carriages.

It has been a tough couple of years as we have tried to turn the business around, battling against high rents and low footfall, not to mention unprecedented autumn and winter rainfall. All of these factors have affected many local businesses and we know how hard it is for everyone to survive on the High Street at the moment.

We are devastated to be pulling out of Knaresborough and saying goodbye to our dream of creating a foodie destination in the town built on great food and excellent service. Sadly, we had underestimated the challenges facing us and the day to day input that was needed from us as owner managers to keep things on course, alongside the running of our Harrogate business.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us in Knaresborough and we hope that someone will eventually be able to pick up where we left off. If you have gift vouchers for Carriages, these will be valid at William and Victoria in Harrogate.
