Today, we officially give the keys back to the brewery after nearly 5 beautiful years. 😢
We have lots of great memories during our time here and met some wonderful people.
If you still want your ‘Royal and Ancient fix’ pop over to The Needless Inn where me and Danny will be based full time! We’ve already seen quite a few of you lovely people over here and we are so grateful people are still supporting us by travelling over to see us ❤️
If we aren’t at The Needless you’ll probably see us at The Cross Keys - Liversedge where we are based from time to time too!
We will miss the place we called home for 4 years 9 months but everything happens for a reason ….

🚨 CUSTOMER ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

‼️ We are truly sorry but due to pre-planned staff holidays and some of the other staff transitioning into other jobs over next week, we are having to push our closing date forward and our last trading day will be THIS Sunday 17th ‼️

We will be contacting all our bookings that are in for next week asap and will be contacting all other bookings i.e Christmas Day over the next month.

There’s a couple of staff still looking for other roles and we would love to help them, if anyone has any positions for a cleaner, for Friday - Monday early mornings before opening and Tuesday - Thursday early mornings before opening please do contact us, as all our staff are amazing!

‼️ Customer Announcement ‼️

After 4 years 8 months, we have decided to leave The Royal and Ancient. To say we are not ready to leave is an understatement and we are absolutely heartbroken it’s had to come to this.

We’ve had plenty of things thrown at us that have been difficult and challenging in this period but the closure of Colne Bridge Road and Leeds Road has had a catastrophic effect on our business.

The minimal support from all the relevant agencies regarding these road closures has only solidified our decision.

The pub trade has always been difficult and challenging to navigate especially with the recent changes with the government.

We are absolutely devastated for the amazing staff that we employ to lose their jobs because of no fault of theirs.

We have met so many amazing people in our brilliant time at the pub, but we suppose all good things must come to an end at some point.

Our last trading day will be Sunday 24th May.

We will still have The Cross Keys at Liversedge and The Needless Inn at Morley if you wanted to come and see us!

This is not a goodbye but see you later 💔 😢

We don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this point 😭 🤣

🚧 Further works will be taking place on Colne Bridge Road from Monday 18th May - Friday 10th July, Monday 13th July - Friday 17th July and Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August! ⛔️

During these times there will be no access to vehicles 🚗

9 weeks continuous of road closures, as well as the rest of the works every other contractor has in store during that period 😭

We have spoken to our provider and they are trying their best to fix the problem but we are unsure when we are going to be back online 📱

⛔️ Dear lovely customers sorry to be the bearer of bad news … from Monday 23rd March - Friday 10th April (19 days), Colne Bridge Road will be closed.

🚗 The detour to get to us will add at least 15-20 mins onto your journey with the increased traffic present along the local routes surrounding us.

🌟 We are asking our amazing customers who are still planning to dine with us during this period to plan your journey ahead. If for any reason you cannot make it to us please cancel your table in good time.

With another week comes another road closure or two! ⛔️

We would like to inform our very loyal and supportive customers that;

A62 Leeds Road will be closed from Friday 13th March - Monday 16th March (Mothers Day weekend) 🙄

A62 Leeds Road will be closed from Friday 20th March - Monday 23rd March.

B6118 Colne Bridge Road will be closed from Monday 23rd March - Friday 10th April (THREE WEEKS) (Easter weekend) 🙄

TRU strikes again, these road closures will unfortunately add time to your commute as there will be an increased traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.

If you are planning to dine with us over the next 6 weeks, please ensure you plan your route ahead.

The end is near, roll on May!🤞
