The Harbour Bar remains closed while we prepare for a brewery led pub for Kirkcaldy.

It has been closed 9 months and will remain closed for a full two years. This is for very good reason.

Investing in the production of beers on a continued basis takes time. At the time of closure this was made clear and updates will be provided as required.

The Harbour Bar has been a pub since the late 1800s and it is right that it takes time during a difficult period for the sector to develop on a sustainable future going forward.

It will be open for and will welcome all. Haste ye back.

On the 27th July 2022 the Harbour Bar reopened. What a three years it has been. Hard work, big challenges and the impossible balance of setting up a working brewpub and maintain a community pub that caters for all.

The night time economy over last 12 months and especially since the Spring means we have made the decision that we cannot develop both at the same time.

We started with a 5 year plan for a working pub with a brewery.
We fully intend to stick to that plan and that means that for the next 18-24 months our priority will shift to developing the brewery that is long overdue.

Our recipes we have tried both at the bar and elsewhere with collaborations unnamed gives us the confidence and depth of knowledge that most brewery startups lack.

The pub of course remains licensed and will shift to events only as and when products are developed and music projects support whole weekend lineups.

Everyone worked hard. They still do elsewhere. A huge thankyou for John Anaya for the hard work needed in the last 5 months.

The Harbour Bar of course hasn't gone but it needs to rest to allow the rest of the project to move forward.

Running a small pub in the current economic climate has been hard. It has also been incredible fun and the long term potential for the brewpub remains but a while ago we decided that if the pub could not develop unaided while the brewery builds it would take time out until we are ready.

Three years tested every part of the project before moving forward with brewing.

This weekends entertainment is POJO! The duo of John Anaya and Pockets that were there for our grand re-opening weekend. Upbeat and lots of laughs. Our great friend Darren McElvar has been recruited to perform at a wedding....he'll be back. Join us Friday for live music and Saturday for great real ales and a full bar.
