The Half Moon Kirdford is reopening in July. Our aim is to establish The Half Moon as a home from home - somewhere vibrant, welcoming and charming. Our Head Chef Paul Welburn has trained with some of the best chefs in Britain, and has years of Michelin-star cooking behind him. His food ethos is locally sourced seasonal British produce enhanced with international flavours. Dishes will be perfectly

complemented by our range of local beers and ales, and a selection of fine wines and spirits. We want you to relax and enjoy your visit to The Half Moon, and our garden area is a real feature of the pub, with a stunning patio, perfect for al-fresco dining. Our team is busy preparing for our official opening in July so keep an eye out for updates.

Dogs can join you in both the Bar and Terrace Garden. Our resident pups make sure the water bowls stay fresh and the treat pot stays full (only ever good treats too) with lovely friendly locals willing to get you one if you beg long enough around it! 😂

We think it’s the perfect spot to bring your humans for a drink, a bite to eat, and a relaxing catch-up in the countryside 🍻☀️🐶

Our rabbit starter is a true celebration of craft, flavour, and respect for the whole animal.

We utilise every part of the rabbit — shoulders gently confit, the belly slow-braised, and the loins transformed into a delicate mousse. The bones are roasted down into a rich, deeply flavoured jus, all brought together and encased in our handmade pasta to create an incredible rabbit raviolo.

It’s served on a base of confit tomatoes, paired with golden raisins, a fresh garden pea salad, and sweet cicely grown in the Half Moon Herb Garden.

This dish showcases the precision, butchery, and creativity of our chefs… and it’s absolutely tasty too. 👌

We’re showcasing the very best of 2 incredible producers- the and the Leconfield Estate. We’re honoured to be able to showcase these animals across the menu- in different ways- a menu that’s all about bold flavours and seasonal indulgence…

Think lamb shoulders, venison tartare, perfectly cooked greedy carver duck breast, lamb steaks sharing sides for the table from irresistible triple chips, seasonal salads, hollandaise. And to top it all off? A classic English sparkling wine Eton mess 🍓🥂

At the Half Moon, we feel incredibly lucky to be located in the beautiful village of Kirdford 🌿

Winding country lanes, beautifully kept homes full of character, and that peaceful, charm you just can’t replicate anywhere else. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and really appreciate what matter’s.

There’s nothing quite like an English country pub garden stirring back to life… 🌿

After long days of honest graft, muddy boots, and tending by hand, the first blooms are finally breaking through — soft colour in the borders, fresh scents on the air, and that unmistakable feeling that spring has truly arrived. 🌸

We’ve been hard at it, quietly shaping, planting, and preparing, and now it’s ready to be shared.
