Announcement from Coast Bar

This is not an easy message to share, but we’ll get straight to the point. After a lot of thought and difficult decision-making, we must announce that Coast Bar will be closing its doors on Friday, 5th September 2025.

Recently, we spoke about the challenges facing grassroots music venues, and sadly, we’ve reached the point where we can no longer keep Coast Bar afloat.

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who came to watch live music, to everyone who shared a drink with us, and to everyone who showed us constant support. You’ve given us an incredible 8 months that we will cherish forever.

Although Coast Bar’s time has been short, it has been the most rewarding chapter of our lives. We’re now moving on to new adventures, but nothing will compare to the memories we’ve made here with all of you.

Coast Bar will always be a part of us, and we hope our paths cross again in the future.

We need your help now more than ever!

With the decrease of local music venues across the country we need your support. Coast Bar have been going very strong since opening but we have seen a lack of interest in local music again.

Without places like us your favourite local bands and artists such as .band and so many more wouldn’t be able to show the world their amazing talent. Talent that us as a community should be very proud of. Without grassroots music venues we then have a shortage of new music and artists across the country.

Last year we lost 125 grassroots music venues, that’s £501 million to the UK economy and 28,000 jobs on average lost. We do not want to become part of that statistic we want to fix that problem and bring live music back.

So how can you help? Pop in to your local music venue for a pint and listen to the great talent that stands in Hull. 20 minutes of your time goes a long long way.
