It is with a great deal of sorrow and disappointment, with the failure of being able to provide a food service at the Bull either through employed Cooks/Chefs or renting out the kitchen, along with a couple of potentially serious health issues.

We have decided to cut our losses and we are marketing the Black Bull, to give any future owners/operators a chance to supply a service to Burton Pidsea.

Angie and myself would like to thank those of you in the village who supported us during our tenure to include our regular visitors from the surrounding and other areas. It has been a great pleasure in the main, and also a humbling experience operating the Black Bull, for and on behalf of all that used the Pub.

With our best wishes and fondest regards for you all and the Pub moving forward.

Just a minor disappointment for you all - we will still be drinking at the establishment, in the future if it re-opens.

Last chance to win "Play your Cards Right" in our final Quiz on Friday night the 11th April, Quiz to start around 8.30pm. Pop-in and show off your quizzing skills for the last time under the present management.

Should the "Play your Cards Right" not be won on the night the prize will be donated to charity along with our last Bingo lost competitions. 50% each to McMillan & Dove House.

Sunday 13th April:

It is with a great deal of sorrow, sadness, disappointment and regret that we have to announce the closure of the Black Bull Inn until further notice, from the date above.

Without more customers than our regular clientele, and also not being able to provide a food service, apart from fish Friday's, due to the inability to obtain the services of a cook/chef, the pub is no longer financially viable for us.

We are looking to sell, lease or indeed actually seek change of use for the establishment, moving forward.

We are grateful, to our loyal customers for their on-going support over the past three years since we purchased the Bull, and it is for them we regret this decision the most. We are also extremely disappointed to have to do this to our loyal staff, who have been a great and loyal asset to us.

We hope you understand our decision, even if you are disappointed, even unhappy, with the news.

We apologise for the short notice but we wanted all our regulars to be informed face to face, before making the decision public.

Friday 28th March.

After our last two quizzes were deferred to Saturday due to other events in the village, our routine Friday Quiz Night is back, this Friday. Our Quiz Master, though, is continuing his break, so again this week the Landlord will fill his shoes.

We look forward to seeing our regular quizzers, and indeed any new teams, and challenge you all with the Quiz. If not quizzing try your luck at the Play your Cards Right.

Due to Burton Pidsea village hall, holding their race night on Friday 28th February, to avoid conflict with our fortnightly quiz night, by request of our regular quizzers we have moved our quiz for this week to the above date.

It will be as usual, Quiz and "Play Your Cards Right". So put on your thinking caps and try to win the Quiz or indeed attempt to turn the cards for a jackpot prize.
