Time, regulars, please! ⏰🍺

After two years of blood, sweat, tears, and scrubbing things at the spring bank tavern that probably hadn't been cleaned since the early noughties, we have some news.

At the end of September, we are officially stepping down as the owners.

To be completely honest, when we took the keys, we had absolutely no idea what we were doing. We had only ever worked as bar staff—we had zero experience running a business. We had no money for a fancy refurbishment, and barely enough to buy our very first stock. (That first barrel of good s**t l***r was bought on Laura’s personal credit card!… how far we have come in that time!) The pub was on the brink of closure, the lines were dirty, and the future looked questionable at best.
But we had a vision, and we gave it everything.

We brought back Shaun and the monthly rock night.

We brought live music back to the place.

We opened up the music genre to include everyone’s tastes.

We kept every single one of our gigs free entry and took the cost of it all onto our shoulders so everyone could enjoy it, regardless of income.

We have had bands play for the first time and form under our roof we have played bands that no one else would book.
(Who are incredible musicians too!)

We welcomed any and all people who were travelling, we are known on football forums as a safe space for away fans.

We were the regular spot for coldplays roadies when they played in Hull.

We were actively involved with the birth and orchestration of HMS. Hull mod and ska event that was incredibly successful last year and is happening again this year, in November.

We are incredibly proud to say that through pure grit, we are leaving with a successful, buzzing local boozer.
It has been an insane amount of hard work, but the laughs, the amazing regulars, and the absolute chaos made every single second worth it.

Our livers might need a rest, but our hearts are completely full.

We have just one month left behind the bar. Let’s make it a September to remember.

Open mic night, Alex (who is just a wonderful human being and has stayed with us not only with open mic night but as a customer too!) is putting on a special one for our last one in the Tav.
And our favourites, the people who were there from the beginning, have stuck by us, and had wonderful encouraging words for us at every turn.. the incredible Alice in a Thunderland see out our time at Spring Bank Tavern on September 26th.

CANCELLED!!!

So sorry to announce that due to band member issues the kerrang rival band have cancelled their gig with us tonight.

Such a shame as so many were looking forward to it.
