We're sorry to share that The Swan will be closing its doors from today.
Like many pubs across the country, we’ve faced an incredibly challenging economic climate over the past year. Rising costs across energy, food and drink, wages, business rates and general overheads have made it increasingly difficult for independent operators to keep sites like The Swan sustainable.
Following recent discussions with our landlord Stonegate Group we have been unable to agree a commercially viable long term arrangement, and therefore have been asked to provide vacant possession of the property. We explored ways to continue trading and looked at potential options for the pub’s future, but no alternative arrangement has been confirmed at this stage.
As a result, we will now be closing from today.
We want to say thank you to every customer who has walked through our doors — for Sunday lunches, after-work drinks, family meals, birthday celebrations, and community events. Your support has meant everything to the team here.
Pubs like The Swan have always been about the people who fill them, and we truly hope the doors will reopen in the future so the community can continue to enjoy this space.
