Join us this Thursday (26th March) and raise a glass as we mark this incredible achievement with an official award presentation at 7pm, followed by live music and refreshments!

The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) is celebrating after its King and Castle pub at Kidderminster station was named Pub of the Year (Gold Award) by the Wyre Forest branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Afternoon,

From Thursday I’ll be in the West Midlands for a few days, with Friday taking me out to Bewdley — a picturesque riverside town on the River Severn, well known for its Georgian buildings and as the northern terminus of the Severn Valley Railway — and then on to Kidderminster, historically famous for its carpet industry and now a lively town with a strong brewing and pub scene. I’ll be visiting a number of Micropubs, Pubs and Breweries over the day, so if I am down to visit you I would really appreciate a share of this post.

Closure Update:

Due to the anticipated freezing temperatures, following Storm Goretti - we have made the decision to remain CLOSED all day today.

Both The King & Castle and The Railwaymans Arms will be closed on Friday 9th January.

The safety of our teams & customers travelling to our sites is our priority!
