To all our wonderful Wayfarers family and customers, we can finally share that we have decided to step away from the pub and hand it back to the brewery.
This decision has been a difficult one, it is something that we have been considering for a few years now. There have been a few ups and downs of late, and these have helped us arrive at this decision, we just feel that the timing is now right. We have seen the rumours and comments circulating online, and what we would say is donāt believe everything you read š
It is a bittersweet time for us; we have had an amazing (nearly) 10 years! We have made so many happy memories, and we love that we got to share these moments with you, our customers. We also had some very difficult times. The loss of our Warren was one of the most challenging times we faced, but the support we received was overwhelming.
We want to especially thank our amazing staff ā Sarah, Liam, Stuart, Holly, Stephen, Abigail, Zion & Mia. They all worked incredibly hard to keep the pub ticking over day in day out, and we couldnāt have found a better bunch. Please rest assured we are looking after the team and are in communication with them and the brewery to work out the best next steps for them.
Another thank you to all of the bands and acts that kept us all entertained on the weekends, we have so many local talents, we hope that the pub continues to have a great live music presence under the new owners.
Our final thanks go to you all, our wonderful customers. Your support and custom over the years have kept us going. We have loved meeting you all, getting to know you and your families, hearing your stories, celebrating the wins and listening when times werenāt so good. It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve you. We can safely say we have made many friends for life through the pub.
We are sorry that we couldnāt announce this sooner, but after ongoing discussions with the brewery they asked us to keep this to ourselves until things have moved on with the process as things take time to fall into place. They are now in a position where they can find new owners. We believe they will be hosting some information days locally, so if you are interested, please have a look on Everards website. To whoever takes over the pub, we wish them every success and all the best, we look forward to coming in to support them in their new venture.
We hope and believe that our time at The Wayfarers will leave a positive and lasting memory to all of those that visited us, and to the pubās history. We will cherish these years; we will miss you all. Lots of love, Tracy š»
