There’s something about an old pub that no modern place can quite replicate.

The worn wood beneath your hand, shaped by decades of stories. The quiet hum of conversation that never quite turns into noise. Light slipping through the windows just right, catching the dust and the amber in your glass like it’s all part of the same ritual.

Mid-afternoon is when it’s at its best. No rush. No chaos. Just a moment carved out of the day where time slows down enough for you to actually taste your drink, hear your thoughts, and remember why places like this mattered in the first place.

It’s not just a pint. It’s a pause. A bit of honesty in a world that doesn’t stop moving.

And if you’re lucky, you’ll find your corner here in The Ship, settle in, and stay a little longer than you planned.

The pub’s decorated, the girls are kitted out, and the pints are flowing ☘️

Pop down this evening, grab a pint of the black stuff, and raise your glass to dear old St. Patrick 🇮🇪

This fella started on the pints earlier today…and he’s still going strong 🍻

Let’s hope he’s in good shape for St Patrick’s Day tomorrow! But there’s only one way to find out…

Why not pop by The Ship and check on him yourself. Sure you might even stay for a pint or three while you’re at it. Sláinte! ☘️🍺

Good pints, great craic, and plenty of Irish spirit behind the bar.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Today we celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who fill our lives with love, strength, patience, and kindness. Your care, guidance, and quiet sacrifices shape families and communities in ways that words can never fully capture.

To all the amazing mums out there, thank you for everything you do, every single day. You are loved, appreciated, and admired more than you know.

Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day, whatever you get up to today. 💐

Last night the fog rolled in across the harbour…and thankfully, we managed to capture this photo

Standing proud, lights glowing, The Ship cutting through the mist like something from an old seaside story.

There’s something special about Folkestone nights like this, quiet streets, the sea air, and a warm pub waiting inside.

If you know, you know. And if you don’t……maybe it’s time you discovered it for yourself.

You simply can’t beat a bit of sunshine on the harbour

After weeks….even months….of miserable weather, it was great to see those blue skies back today. Fresh air, a gentle breeze, and that golden glow on the water…long may it continue!
