Hidden away in the Sierra Mazateca Mountains of Northern Oaxaca, tucked amongst the steep, misty river canyons of Rio Tuerto we find a place where tradition meets dedication and the birthplace of Paranubes.

Jose Luis’ family have been producing Paranubes for the past 35 years, through 3 generations of care and love, but what is it exactly? It’s Aguardiente de caña, or more commonly known as Rum.

Made from the finest Mexican sugarcane, which is then pressed, fermented and distilled, this Oaxacan rum is a firm staff favourite thanks to the character of the terroir; green olive, wild herbs, baked cornbread and dried fig. An incredible spirit worthy of any palate.

We’re proud to share that Viajante87 has ranked #33 in the Top 50 Cocktail Bars.

Over the past year, we’ve evolved, experimented, and doubled down on what we believe a great cocktail experience should feel like with new flavours, energy and staying longer than planned.

To our team, who show up every night with care and craft, who build the atmosphere, who push themselves to do better, thank you. It’s the result of long services, behind the scene prep hours, and the constant pursuit of getting it just right.

To our guests - the locals, the regulars, the industry friends, and those who’ve travelled to sit at our bar. Thank you for trusting us, for coming back, and for ordering again.

We’ve always wanted V87 to be a place where you can switch off, lean in, and let the night unfold. To be acknowledged means everything.

NYE 2025, you were a blast! Thank you for dancing, drinking, and refusing to call it an early night with us.

The team’s now rested, the bar’s open again, and we’re ready to go for the new year.

And just like that… another year done.

A huge thank you to every guest, sponsor and friend who came through our doors this year. From Culture Exchanges to new menu launches to Del Maguey takeovers, you filled the bar with energy all year long.

Don’t forget, we’re seeing out tonight with a glass of champagne (or two). After that, we’re taking a short break and will be back behind the bar on the 6.01.26, ready to shake Palomas and all your favourites again.
