🎱 Pilky’s Friday Night Flyer – 20 Week Ranking Competition 🎱

Welcome to the Friday Night Flyer Season Rankings.

Every Friday, players earn points based on their performance in the tournament, their attendance, and their ability to pull off big upsets against higher-category players.

£12 per week (£2 goes to league payouts) £6 for juniors and ladies (£1 to league payouts)

At the end of the 20-week season, the highest-ranked players qualify for the Season Finals, with the overall points leader crowned the League Champion.

1️⃣ Main Event Points

The Main Event is where the majority of ranking points are earned.

The further you progress, the more points you receive.

If you reach the Quarter-Finals, you earn:

50 ranking points

If you win the tournament:

2️⃣ Plate Event Points

Players knocked out in Rounds 1 or 2 enter the Plate Competition.

This ensures everyone still has something to play for after an early loss.

Why the Plate Matters

The Plate allows players who have an off night in the Main Event to still earn valuable ranking points.

3️⃣ Giant Killer Bonus

The Giant Killer Bonus is designed to reward lower-category players who beat stronger opponents.

Cat 1–3 players cannot earn Giant Killer points.

4️⃣ Attendance & Loyalty Bonus

Consistency is rewarded throughout the season.

Players who attend regularly earn additional ranking points.

15 Consecutive Weeks +60
20 Consecutive Weeks +100

Attend all 20 weeks:

20 + 40 + 60 + 100

Total Attendance Bonus = 220 points

This rewards players who support the event week after week.

5️⃣ Player of the Night

Each Friday, the organiser may award:

Player of the Night

+25 Points

This can be awarded for:

A huge upset victory
An outstanding tournament run
Exceptional sportsmanship
A memorable performance

This award is entirely at the organiser's discretion.

🏁 How Rankings Work

Every Friday your points are added together.

You can earn points from:

✅ Player of the Night

All points accumulate over the full 20-week season.

After Week 20:

Player with the most ranking points after 20 weeks.

🎯 Giant Killer Champion

Player who accumulates the most Giant Killer bonus points throughout the season.

📈 Most Improved Player

Player showing the greatest improvement between Week 5 and Week 20.

🎱 Consistency Award

Player with the most Quarter-Final appearances or better during the season.

Example Scoring Night

A Cat 7 player:

Reaches Semi-Finals = 65 points
Beats a Cat 2 player = +20 points
5-category difference = +5 points
Wins Player of the Night = +25 points

Total:

115 points for the evening

League Objective

The ranking system is designed to reward:

At the end of 20 weeks, the player with the most points becomes the Pilky's Friday Night Flyer League Champion and the top 16 battle it out for the Season Finals title.

Start date TBA. £30 entry. International Rules. Straight Knockout
Races the 15 with handicaps applied. (Handicap list guideline only, TD has final say on handicaps)
Plate event for first round losers.
Format;
Races to 15 with handicaps applied to every player. Once draw is done, a deadline will be set for all matches in that round to be played. You will have to arrange a suitable time and date with your opponent to play the match. Both players are responsible for this and will both be forfeited if proof cannot be provided that you have made a good attempt to arrange the match. Tables will be on a discounted rate and to be paid for by the loser.
All money in paid out. Annual trophy for the winner. Get your names down for this! The chance to become the King/Queen of Pilkys for 2026!
