🎶🍻 BUZZAFEST IS BACK 🍻🎶

Yes… against all odds, common sense, and several stress-induced group chats…

BUZZAFEST RETURNS FOR ITS 5TH YEAR 🎉
📍 Busfeild Arms
🗓️ 29th & 30th August

For four whole years we’ve brought you live music, cold beer, festival food and scenes that should probably never have been posted online and we are back for fifth!

And once again, Donna & Beth are in charge…
which is both exciting and deeply concerning for everyone involved.

Planning for Buzzafest officially started months ago with:
📋 Big ideas
🍷 Several bottles of cider
📝 Notes written on beer mats
😵 And at least 14 sentences beginning with:
“Right… hear me out…”

Beth has been trying very hard to keep everything organised, sensible and under control…
Meanwhile Donna’s contributions so far include:
👉 “Can we get more lights?”
👉 “What if we add another bar?”
👉 “Do we NEED health and safety signs everywhere?”
👉 “I’ve had an idea…”
(which is now everyone’s least favourite sentence)

This year promises:
🎸 LIVE MUSIC OUTSIDE ALL WEEKEND
🍔 Festival food that’ll ruin your diet but heal your soul
🍺 Outside bar because walking inside is effort
💃 Questionable dancing from 2pm onwards
🎤 Blokes singing Oasis like they ARE Oasis
🕺 Someone’s auntie absolutely dominating the dancefloor
☀️ Optimism about the weather despite living in Yorkshire

PLUS… we have a few surprises planned 👀

We can’t say too much yet… mainly because half the ideas haven’t been approved and the other half probably shouldn’t be.

Expect the usual Buzzafest magic:

🍻 Losing your mates every 20 minutes
🍻 Someone shouting “THIS IS MY SONG” at least 47 times
🍻 Men over 45 suddenly believing they’re in an indie band

By Saturday night the dancefloor will be packed, voices will be gone, and someone will definitely be eating loaded fries while emotionally supporting their mate outside the toilets.

Bank holiday may be over… but the sun is still hanging around like that one customer who says “just one more” at closing time ☀️🍺

School holidays are here, which means: 👉 parents are surviving on caffeine and patience
👉 kids suddenly eat every 14 minutes
👉 and the phrase “I’m bored” has already been heard at least 73 times this week 😅

Luckily… we’ve got you covered.

🍺 Ice cold beers? Absolutely.
🍔 New seasonal menu? Flying out of the kitchen faster than a child spotting an ice cream van.
☀️ Beer garden? Suntrap status activated.
🐶 Doggy water station? Of course — because we believe every good pub should cater for thirsty four-legged customers too.

Bring the family, bring the dog, bring your mates who said they were “just popping out for one” and are now emotionally attached to their bar stool 🍺

Whether you fancy a lazy lunch, after-work drinks, or just escaping the chaos of school holidays for an hour… we’re ready and waiting.

And remember… calories don’t count when the sun’s out. That’s basically science 🌞🍟

🚨🍔 NEW MENU 🍔🚨

Well… safe to say the NEW MENU has been a bit of a hit this week 😅🔥

We honestly thought people might calmly come in, enjoy a nice meal and go home…

Instead we’ve had:🍟 Loaded fries disappearing in approximately 14 seconds🍔 Burgers being photographed more than people’s kids🥩 Steak pies flying out faster than pints on a bank holiday🧀 Arguments over who’s nicked the halloumi fries🌯 Sizzlers turning heads every time they leave the kitchen🤣 And at least 47 people saying:“I’m stuffed… go on then, show us the dessert menu.”

The Chicken Tikka Fries have developed a fan club.The Steak & Stilton ciabatta is causing trust issues between couples.And the chefs are now emotionally attached to the lasagne 😭

To everyone who’s come down this week — THANK YOU 🍻The feedback has been amazing and we’re so glad you’re loving the new menu as much as we are.

🧼 CLEANER WANTED 🧼

We’re on the hunt for a reliable, hard-working cleaner to join our pub family!

✨ Hours:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday

Approx hours 7/7:30am – 11:00am

Plus Saturdays when we have events (don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of notice!)

✨ The role: Keeping our pub looking its best – clean, fresh, and ready for the day ahead. It’s a key role and we genuinely appreciate the person behind the sparkle!

✨ What we’re looking for:

Someone trustworthy and dependable

Takes pride in their work

Early riser (the coffee helps ☕)

A MASSIVE thank you to our one and only Joanne – the Queen of Cleaning, ruler of the mop, boss of the bucket, and an all-round Busfeild legend 👑🧽✨

For 7 incredible years she’s kept us spotless, sane(ish), and running like a proper establishment…
even when we’ve done our very best to undo all her hard work within about 10 minutes 😅

Honestly, if there was a gold medal for cleaning up after us lot, Joanne would have a trophy cabinet full of them!

From muddy boots and sticky floors to the classic “who on earth made this mess?!” moments – she’s handled it all like a pro.

And let’s not forget the ongoing battle of freshly mopped floors vs certain members of staff… yes Garry, we’re looking at you 👀🚶‍♂️ straight across the wet floor like the sign was merely a suggestion 😂

And of course… the famous morning gossip sessions with Donna and Beth ☕👀 – part team briefing, part therapy session, part “did that really happen last night?!” We’re pretty sure half the place ran on those chats alone!

When she’s not here working miracles, Joanne’s living her best life with her fella, her dogs, and a well-deserved gin in hand 🍸🐶❤️ (probably recovering from us, if we’re being honest).

Joanne, you’ve been more than just staff – you’ve been part of the heart of this place. We will miss you more than you know… and we’re not entirely sure how we’re going to cope without you keeping us in check!

Wishing you all the very best for this exciting new chapter in your new home 🏡✨ – you absolute gem.

That’s it. That’s all the convincing you need. Cancel your “quiet night,” ignore your responsibilities, and tell whoever needs to know…
you’ve got important beer garden business to attend to ☀️🍻

Locals… don’t pretend you’re “thinking about it.”
We KNOW you’ve already picked your seat, your drink, and who you’re gossiping about first 👀

Staff… let’s not lie to ourselves here.
You’re not finishing your shift and going home… you’re finishing your shift and sitting down with a “well-earned one” that turns into five 😏

So get yourselves down for booze & a boogie 💃🕺🏼

🚨 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

After a full 17 minutes of uninterrupted sunshine, several locals removing their coats, and Big Dave saying “it’s actually quite warm you know”… we can now CONFIRM: summer has arrived. ☀️🍻

So naturally, we’re doing what any sensible British pub would do…

👉 OPENING THE BEER GARDEN LIKE IT’S IBIZA.

This Friday, we throw open the gates to our glorious suntrap (wind tunnel with seating), and you’re all invited to celebrate the annual British tradition of squinting into the sun with a pint.

🎧 DJ Crossa bringing the tunes outside from 5–7pm
(Expect bangers, questionable dance moves, and at least one person thinking they’re in a music video)
🍺 Grab a pint (or 4, we don’t judge)
🍔 Grab some food (because drinking on an empty stomach is a rookie error)
💃 Grab a stranger to dance with (politely… we’re not animals)

Dress code:
🕶 Sunglasses on
🧥 Coat nearby “just in case”
🩴 Optimism levels: dangerously high

Let’s make the most of it before the weather remembers it’s the UK and slaps us with sideways rain by Sunday morning.

So round up your mates, your work crew, your neighbour who waters their plants in pyjamas, and that one friend who definitely shouldn’t be left unsupervised after two ciders… and get yourselves down.

Cold drinks, good vibes, dodgy dancing, and that unbeatable feeling of pretending you’re abroad when you’re actually just down the road.
