The last thing I posted was a video of a local bar to me called Charlie's Bar. Well that video went viral with millions of views. It’s the best Christmas video since John Lewis last Christmas video.

Well this video I’m posting is nine years old and filmed in the same bar, Charlie’s.

Very relevant after the death of the composer Shane McGowan.

My claim to fame is the male singer in this video, Krum Maguire, was the entertainment at my birthday a few years ago at Charlie’s. Btw, Cathy McGovern has an amazing voice too.

Well that's if folks, the end of a place where first of all I had the pleasure to dj for Floyd & Jane, then along with Deirdre run the place for 4 years. its been part of our lifes for around 12 years, so will be surly missed. there are far too many stories to write on here, but those walls could tell some tales, the pool table could tell some stories, & the stories that were heard behind the bar by Deirdre, will stay behind the bar, & the sights iv seen from the dj box will stay in the dj box... (although I am guilty of posting a couple of them on facebook). what's happened in the VIP lounge will stay private, Although you could ask Collette about the young man who waited ready willing & able for her up there. We have become great friends with some of our customers & hopefully will remain so. we've had some of the best laughs ever in that place. To all the customers who sampled our food thank you, I know there some that really miss those Sunday dinners. Floyd & Jane, thank you for the opportunity to first of all dj there 3 nights a week, then after 3 years away, come back and take over the licence. All the staff we've employed including the door staff, Thank you each and everyone of you. all the acts we had, some of you were amazing. some memorable moments were hearing the reformed sallys hoods, YCNR for the first time, and the Sunday night favourites Angela Breen, then Doreen. To every customer who set foot in the place. and those who came back day after day or week after week or just when there was something on, thank you. To Lawrence Hoy for all the help with I-fest every year, without Lawrence there would not have been an I-fest. and thanks to everyone else who helped out with it, in particular Darren Miller & Ryan Smith. and to all the bands and solo artists who played, thank you. I could go on forever, but ill stop while im ahead, as always only one thing to say. we've had the time of my life and we owe it all to you. im back now as a full time dj.. but for now, 'I feel like ive been locked outta heaven'...

This is the hardest Floyd's post I've ever had to write. But from today (Thursday 7th November) we are giving up Floyd's, there are many many reasons why, some personal, others business & lastly is best for our future, ( that part hasn't been decided yet, as we are pondering over a few offers). the decision wasn't taken lightly. Between dj'ing at Floyd's & then having the licence it's been in our life's for roughly 10 years. Although it's been hard work we have enjoyed it immensely with some legendary times. We would like to thank all the staff that have worked with us over the past four years. We have also made some great friends in Irvinestown & I'm sure we will remain friends. But lastly we have to thank EVERY single one of you that have walked through our doors as a customer, because it's all of you that have made the last four years possible. There are far to many people to mention individually, but you all know who you are. We know we will be this weeks gossip (meant in a nice way) but next weeks gossip is, Floyd's will be reopened very soon with Jane & Floyd back at the helm, and Collette still behind the bar. You won't even miss us then. Once again THANK YOU EVERYONE. And I can assure you lots of tears were dropped making this decision. Tony & Deirdre.
