Further to the commentary I gave about the litter and rubbish bags issue we have been suffering in Ipswich town centre 2nd July https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18zeFKbjV1/

And the campaigning work of many with Ipswich.co.uk being very vocal. Is there finally real progress?? I hope so! One of my beliefs is when you are prepared to criticise, you must be prepared to praise.

This morning 6.15am - 6.30am, two street cleansers worked Upper Brook St and Tacket Street. Both incredibly quick, efficient and comprehensive in picking up waste. I know 'it's their job' but still, it felt important to thank them for their efforts and in turn Ipswich Borough Council for taking the first steps of many needed, within their gift, to improve Ipswich.

Hopefully this is the start of a brightening future and not a one off false dawn.

If anyone knows a Melissa G*****, who may have lost her cards Sunday 28th August on the corner of Dogs Head Street and Lower Brook Street Ipswich, please let her know we found two.

We have one card secured in our safe and part of the other after being destroyed on the instructions of the card provider.

Please be assured Melissa, if you see this post after 6th September the second card will have also be destroyed for you.

National chains come and go. But there will always be us local independents that put heart and soul into their businesses and the town centre.

There's lots of gems to be found in Ipswich town centre!

Always a joy to visit Dial Lane Books in Ipswich. The owner, Andrew, deserves a medal for all the hard work he puts in. His shop is welcoming, inclusive and stuffed to the rafters with bookish treasures. Go and see him. Buy some books. Show him the love. Without bookshops, our society becomes soulless ❤️
