After being part of The Welly family, our lovely Cicely is heading off to begin an exciting new chapter with a new job.

From pulling pints to putting up with all of our nonsense (and let’s be honest, that’s a full-time job on its own!), she’s been an absolute pleasure to have behind the bar. Always smiling, always happy to help, and someone who fitted into the Welly family from day one.

The customers have loved you, the team have loved working alongside you, and you’ll definitely be missed.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for The Welly. We couldn’t be prouder of you for taking this next step, and we know you’ll smash it in your new role.

🎉 WELLYFEST IS ALMOST HERE! 🎉

Three days. One pub. A garden full of music, laughter, cold pints and the best atmosphere in town. 🍻☀️🎶

From Friday 7th to Sunday 9th August, we’ve got an incredible line-up of live entertainment, from theatre performances to some fantastic local musicians and bands, all ready to make it a weekend to remember.

🎭 Friday – Studio Theatre & Black Box Theatre and our favourite Alan Philips bringing the best tunes for you in the evening.
☀️ Saturday – Sunny Saturday with Harvey Joe Hudson & the gang
🎸 Sunday – Big Al & The Wild Strawberries, Lulu Renson, Harvey Joe Hudson, Wilderwolf, Dean Murphy and special guest star Jude and his unnamed band.

Whether you’re joining us for one day or making a whole weekend of it, we’d love to see you. Bring your friends, bring the family, grab a drink, soak up the atmosphere and let’s make this the biggest WellyFest yet!

On Friday 7th August, we’re proud to be hosting the Prideaux Trophy, a brilliant charity darts competition held in memory of the much-loved Roy Prideaux Jnr – a true legend of the Ilfracombe Darts League.

Whether you’re a seasoned darts player or you couldn’t hit a barn door with a handful of darts, you’re more than welcome! 😄

🎯 Double-In 501 (every leg starts on Double 2 – Roy’s favourite!)
💷 Just £5 entry
❤️ Every penny raised, including the raffle, goes to the Prideaux family’s chosen charity.

We’ll also have a raffle on the night, so if anyone would like to donate a prize, we’d be incredibly grateful. You can hand it in behind the bar before the event or bring it along on the night.

Where do we even begin?

A massive THANK YOU to every single one of you who chose to spend the World Cup with us here at The Welly.

The singing, the cheering, the groans, the last-minute winners, the nerves, the celebrations… every single match was made special because of you.

A huge congratulations to everyone who picked up a prize in our football envelopes, sweepstakes, predictors and many many raffles. We hope you enjoy your winnings (or at least spend some of them back at the bar! 😉🍺).

And finally… to my unbelievable team.

You have worked your absolute socks off. Long days, late nights, packed bars, endless pints, smiles that never disappeared and enough glass collecting to last a lifetime. You kept the pub running through one of the busiest periods and I honestly couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you.
