Many of our bands came from Wales, especially through Ray’s ties to a the Patriot. Amazing pool of talent.

Hope you give these guys a huge welcome.

Yesterday the music world and I lost a friend. Ray spent his life immersed in his love for music and in 2011, we were introduced.

I wanted more live music and so did he and a bond was formed where not only did he bring bands, he and Jackie hosted our Tuesday Quiz nights, when we couldn’t on the odd occasions, he’d be there with his DJ cap and machine. There was a time when he helped us organise our little venue into a Sunday market with stalls inside.

In 2012 he brought the first of many of his music friends to The Chill Bar and it started with HangFire. One of the many bands from Wales that would perform at The Chill Bar.

USA, Australia, Spain, Norway, Sweden, NewZealand, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands and of course, from all around Great Britain.

He was also very into promoting the young talent and I’m sure you will remember the many bands that had members who were aged 14 and 15.

He brought joy to our bar and the town with the many talented musicians. Many of whom made a mark on my life and I’m sure to countless others.

Thank you Ray Williams, you will be remembered .

Our condolences and love to Jackie who was by his side in his last days.

Thank you for the music and more.

Raise a glass for a toast to this remarkable man. Love and respect.

Ps the tribute features only a handful of bands that appeared through Rays efforts. Sorry if I missed your band.
Not forgetting the 3 music festivals we hosted where we had so many bands and musicians playing upstairs and downstairs and our venue being used as host to The Voice
