For those that have forgotten or don't know, Bennett Street between The George and Dragon on the corner of Smith Street up to the junction with Ashton Road at the lights is closed!

As far as we know it will remain closed til Friday.

We are already seeing confusion outside and it's not even close to rush hour yet 😂

Go a different route or just stop here for a drink and a rethink 🍻

A growing trend.

Our Sky and TNT bill went up to £1,720 a month. Over £20,000 a year..

It's unsustainable.

We have sadly had to call time on our Sky Sports subscription.

We have received a massive increase on our subscription fees that we can simply no longer afford.

While we might not be able to show the football anymore, this gives us an opportunity to spend the money elsewhere on our entertainment!

SOBER OCTOBER FROM ANOTHER ANGLE.

While Sober October has become a lifestyle challenge and fundraiser for charity, along with dry January, it has become a problem for an already struggling hospitality industry.

Right now, pubs and bars are closing at a phenomenal rate in the UK.

Last year dry January caused an estimated 18% decrease in sales across the board in the hospitality industry. Sober October cost pubs and clubs across the country and estimated £800 million I lost revenue.

While we agree that charity is important, it shouldn't be at the cost of a hard working and long standing British industry.

HERE'S A BETTER IDEA......

Get your mates together, go down to your local, speak to your landlord or landlady and organise a charity event in the pub.

Darts marathon. Pool marathon. A sponsored sit in a bathtub of beans. Anything that doesn't include stopping visiting them.

You would make more money for charity, have a really good time and you would be supporting your local!
