Apparently , pubs & clubs are “too expensive.” 😬🥵💰

I hear it every day. 🤯

Usually from someone clutching a £6 artisan coffee, scrolling TikTok on a £1,200 phone, while explaining how £4.80 for a pint is daylight robbery. 💎

But sure. The pubs/clubs is the problem. 👌

Let me explain this slowly…

You’re not paying £4.80 for “beer”! 🍺

You’re paying for an experience, for a community, for…

💸 The heating being on before you arrive.
💸 The lights staying on after you leave.
💸 The loos being scrubbed (you’re welcome).
💸 The glasses being washed.
💸 The staff being paid.
💸 The licences. The insurance. The rates. The tax.
💸 The little bite the card machine takes every single time you tap.
💸 Sometimes the FREE ENTERTAINMENT from the artist set up in the corner, performing LIVE.

You’re not just buying a drink. 🍷

You’re renting a space to exist in public without being moved on. To socialise. To make friends. To feel welcome. To belong. ❤️

Go and sit in the middle of ASDA for three hours debating the WRU and see how long that lasts. Try getting banter from a self-checkout. 😅

These places aren’t competing with supermarket booze. 🛒

They're competing with the idea that community should be free. 🏘️❤️

And here’s the bit I find fascinating…

The same people who mourn “the death of British hospitality” are the ones who treat these places like overpriced off-licences. 🍾

They don’t just sell beer. 🍺

They sell:
👉 First dates that turned into marriages.
👉 Wakes where the real stories came out.
👉 “Ok, just one” that became the best night of the year.
👉 Somewhere to decompress when the world’s had enough of you and you’ve had enough of the world.
👉 A place you can watch a rugby match, football match, darts championship with your mates
👉 A place you can book a function room to celebrate with family and friends
👉 A building that holds great moments and memories that can never ever be forgotten
👉They sell a place to not be alone. 🫂

If you want cheap: stay on your sofa with a four-pack of lukewarm cans 🛋️🥵🍻

But PLEASE don’t confuse low cost with value! 🤷‍♂️

USE THEM OR LOOSE THEM! 🤷‍♀️

As you were.....

Dont know how true this is but if theres even a sniff of truth then its worth sharing:

"I doubt that we will ever get justice on this, but we can hope.
On the 5th and 6th of June, the UK Government may be made to give back the right to retire at 60 to all those women who worked and paid their National Insurance.
Currently their pension payout is delayed until 66.
We all know that the pension age for women born in the sixties has been raised. Did you know a campaign called ‘Back to 60 Movement’ has won the right to a Judicial Review and is taking the DWP to the High Court? On the 5th and 6th June they will attempt to get the 3.9 million women justice over non consultation in raising the pensionable age to 66 and above.
Michael Mansfield QC will lead the case and the argument for the movement. However, there does not appear to be any media coverage regarding this significant event. That is why we’re raising the awareness now. Let's hope for justice rightly deserved.
There appears to be a media blackout on this issue, which suggests that the government have put a block on the media reporting it. So let’s use social media for what it’s good at - share the hell out of this. Come on ladies - this is worth a great deal to you!
PLEASE, PLEASE COPY AND PASTE"
