🦢 Sad to say goodbye, Hoxne. 🦢

After a great deal of consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to step away from The Swan.

This wasn’t our first choice, and we had genuinely hoped to build a future here. Unfortunately, given the circumstances, the project has become unsustainable for us to continue and we feel stepping away is the only decision left for us.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone locally who has supported us and made us feel so welcome. We loved meeting every one of you. Hoxne is a beautiful village and we are sad to be leaving.

With very heavy hearts, we have to let you know that we’re going to have to delay the opening of The Swan Inn.

This week, we’ve been hit with a major leak which requires extensive repairs, alongside faulty electrics and issues with the fire alarm system — all things that need to be fully resolved before we can safely open our doors.

After seven months of hard work, countless hours and a whole lot of love poured into bringing The Swan back to life, this is incredibly disappointing. We’re doing everything we can to keep things moving.

We know so many of you have been excited to finally see the pub open, and we’re genuinely sorry to have to postpone. But we have to do this properly, safely and to the standard The Swan deserves.

We’ll keep you updated as things progress and will share a new opening date as soon as we can. Thank you so much for your patience, understanding and support.

Another update from us at The Swan.

We have a dining room!

We’ve buffed, polished, cleaned and sanded every surface in sight and now have what I personally think (but I’m biased) is the best room in the pub. We’ll be serving a seasonal menu of good classic pub food, locally sourced, with a wine list from Ben Easey to match.

We still don’t have an exact opening date due to the structural work that needs to be done, but we are getting closer by the day. In the meantime, I’ll just sit here waiting till you can all turn up. Do wave at me through the window 🤣

The beer hatch and garden will be open again this Friday! Rich will also be firing up the bbq again - get yourself a beef or a vegan burger before they’re gone.

Limited bar menu again but we will have a bitter on cask this week and more frozen margaritas.

We’re very lucky to have been given a bounty of artwork and historical memorabilia on the history of Hoxne and the pub by Richard and his team at the Hoxne Heritage Group.

They’re a dedicated group committed to discovering, preserving, and celebrating the unique history of Hoxne, ensuring it remains alive for future generations.

You’ll see pieces of artwork dotted around the pub and a gallery wall on the walkway to the restroom. Do have a gander when we open.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our garden party yesterday. The sun came out and the beers finally flowed at The Swan. Thanks to our lovely staff and helpers from the village who worked hard all week to get us ready! 🦢

Special shout out to Chef Rich who was an absolute machine on that bbq 🍗

We will hopefully be opening soon, so keep your eyes peeled for our official opening date.
