Sat 13th Dec is Lucia Day. Across Scandinavia celebrations are held marking Sankta Lucia bringing light, hope and food in the darkness of winter on what used to be the winter solstice. We’re kickstarting our festive season tonight celebrating light and joy with the first night of our carols & brass evenings. Join us for festive cheer and a good old sing song from 8pm 🎶🎺🎄💃🕺

This evening many of the fabulous shops and businesses on Portland Road will be open for Late Night Christmas Shopping. We’re truly blessed to be part of such a vibrant and diverse community of independent local businesses and often marvel at the fact that you really can get pretty much everything you need without having to leave Portland Road. Long live the Indies!

BURNING SKY COOLSHIP 2025 AND NEW CORE BEER LAUNCH

Looking forward to getting this absolute beauty on our bar ✨ Thu 20th November sees the national launch by the ever fabulous of three new beers adding to their core range.

In cask NZPA will be joining Aurora and Plateau. In keg Luppoleto Pilsner (already an established favourite on our taps) and Three Arms - a 4% gluten-free pale ale with join Quench and the mighty Arise.

We’re stoked to be part of the celebrations and join some of the best beer bars nationwide in hosting a Burning Sky Tap Takeover.

We’ll be pouring the new beers together with some seasonal specials and very excitingly the 2025 release of Coolship, a blend of spontaneously fermented beers from 2021-24. Created using a turbid mash schedule followed by wild inoculation overnight in Burning Sky’s coolship before transferring to barrels for a lengthy fermentation. Oaky, with a pleasing acidity, this beer is very special and unique to Burning Sky’s landscape in the foothills of the South Downs.

Just as Father Christmas once again prepares for his epic journey, we’re limbering up for our annual residency by the very wonderful . Four nights of festive fun, singing and community cheer 🎶🎺🎄 As usual we’re running a ballot for seated tickets. To enter the ballot, just pop into the pub and chat with a member of the team 🙌

IT’S ON AND IT’S DELICIOUS! 🍻🕺

Through the Fields is gracing our taps right now!
A blend of foudre and barrel aged mixed fermentation beers, further aged on local elderberries. Slightly tart and refreshing, it’s dry on the palate with notes of earthy berries and a light, spritzy Burgundy and thoroughly YUM! 🤩🍺
