Norwich West Coast Swing

Norwich West Coast Swing Norwich WCS is a friendly dance group, running Swing Fridays quarterly at Honingham Village Hall It is danced to a wide variety of music.

West Coast Swing is a linear partner dance, with technique centred around 6 and 8 beat patterns, and weight change footwork. It is characterised by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection, and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. The dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together. West Coast Swing dance (WCS) and the dancers (westies, as we are genially known) are governed by World Swing Dance Council - http://www.swingdancecouncil.com/
