Small update. Meetings held with FCC conservation officer very helpful & informative. We now have a plan to go forward. We’re now looking into the regeneration scheme for towns in Flintshire. We have roof repairs & scaffold booked in next. Small steps one at a time without rushing. We aim to have two 2 bedroom flats and a renovated public house at the end of the process. Thanks to all the local words of encouragement.

Some activity this week some structural repairs to stabilise the Old Red ! Then some electrical repairs. Still awaiting dates from Flintshire county council for meetings on site sadly since 3 emails sent in November. It’s not a great start I would have thought they would have been keen to see the refurbishment & be pro-active about it. This was always going to be a slow burn project but some advice & support would have been helpful at this stage.

It’s a good job we’re not easily deterred !!!

Awaiting a scheduled meeting with the conservation officer as the building is listed to decide on a plan of works.

We look forward to starting further repair works & progress in the new year and will post updates here.

Steel shutters to be removed this Friday. Let’s get some natural light in the olde Red. Building stabilisation & refurbishment starting in the new year. Further development news to follow.
