📢 Important Dates & End of Summer Season Announcement! 📢
As we wrap up another fantastic summer on the water, here is what’s coming up for our members and visitors over the next few weeks:
🗓️ Thursday 17th September: Final public session on the lake for the summer season!
🗓️ Thursday 24th September: Members-Only AGM & Chippy Dinner 🐟🍟
(Please remember to place your food order in the WhatsApp group ahead of time!)
🗓️ Thursday 1st October: Winter paddling sessions begin (Members Only).
🔓 Thursday 15th April: We reopen our gates to the general public!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on the water this summer. To our members, we look forward to seeing you at the AGM and on our winter paddles! 🚣‍♂️✨

> Weather Update
> We are actively monitoring the storm. As a reminder, heavy rain won't stop us, but we cannot operate on the water during active lightning due to safety protocols.
> We will make a final call on whether activities proceed closer to the session time once we see how the storm moves through. Please keep an eye out for our next update before heading down.

⚠️ EXTREME WEATHER UPDATE
We will be open to the public this evening, but the heat/sun is no joke right now. It is incredibly important that all participants take extra precautions to stay safe.
Please ensure you follow these guidelines:
Hydrate regularly: Drink water before you arrive and keep a bottle with you throughout the evening.
Sun protection: Apply plenty of sunscreen or cover your arms and legs with light, breathable clothing.
Wear a hat: Keep your head covered to prevent heat exhaustion.
Look out for each other: Remain vigilant and watch your peers for any signs of heat stress.
🕒 Please Note:
Our coaches will be continuously assessing conditions throughout the evening. If the heat becomes a safety risk, we may call an early finish.
Stay cool, stay safe, and let’s look out for the team!

Can you believe there’s only one month left of the summer season? That means it’s time to start prepping for our winter paddling sessions!

Please note: These night sessions are open to kayakers and canoeists only (the canal at night is not suitable for paddleboards).

Paddler Requirements:
• Be aged 14 or over
• Able to paddle competently in a straight line
• Able to paddle 5 miles in the dark
• Proficient in capsize recovery
• Complete at least 1 canal training session

Training kicks off this week! Please register your interest below, and keep an eye out for the poll coming shortly.

⚠️ Important Safety Update: Evening Session
Good afternoon everyone,
Please take a moment to read this important safety update regarding this evening's session.
Due to the potential for strong offshore winds, we may have to pause the use of club paddleboards tonight. We won't be able to make the final call until we are down at the water later this afternoon.
However, kayaks will still be available as an alternative option, regardless of the board decision!
📋 Guidelines for Tonight:
Competent Members (Own Boards): You are welcome to go out and continue as usual.
Beginners: To ensure everyone's safety, any beginners wishing to paddleboard tonight will need to be assessed by a committee member before heading out.
Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our sessions safe.
