Very sad news loosing another great pub up in Northumberland. While starting our pub journey I used a lot of inspiration from what the crown did as I saw them as the best around the area. Goes to show how tough it is. Would like to say a massive thank you to everyone in and around the local area supporting the black bull and keeping our doors open.🍻❤️

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of The Crown Inn with immediate effect. 15 years ago we came into a pub full of strangers and we now find ourselves closing a pub who’s regulars we all call friends.

There have been many contributing factors which have brought us to this sad decision. The ever increasing costs throughout the business have reached the stage that the business has become unsustainable, from energy bills to the cost of a piece of fish, nothing has managed to escape the increases.

On a personal level, I love this industry, being the fourth generation in my family in hospitality it’s in my blood, I hope that my parents would be proud of the things which we have achieved here. I think being Judged to be the “Best Pub In Northumberland” two years running shows the level that we as a team managed to take the business to. There simply aren’t words to describe the appreciation that I have for our small team of staff, we have been through a lot together and I wish nothing but the very best for everyone
