Something important is coming to The Tipsy Turtle in Hesketh Bank.
On Saturday 14th November, we will be holding a Mental Health & Su***de Awareness Day, an event that is incredibly close to the hearts of those involved and many of our regulars who have been affected by mental health struggles, su***de, trauma and loss.
With the event taking place just after Remembrance Sunday and as we move towards Christmas, we feel the timing is particularly important.
Because for many people, this time of year can bring difficult memories, loneliness and struggles that aren't always visible to others.
Our aim is simple:
To bring people together.
To encourage people to talk.
To listen without judgement.
And to help break the stigma surrounding mental health and su***de.
Throughout the day we'll be holding a variety of activities, with full details being announced over the coming weeks.
But this isn't just about Hesketh Bank or Tarleton.
We want this to reach across West Lancashire and beyond.
We're therefore asking local businesses, organisations and community groups to get involved and help us make this something our whole community can be proud of.
There will be opportunities to support, sponsor, donate, get involved in activities and help us spread the message.
And at the heart of everything we do will be three simple words:
🐢 TIPSY REMEMBERS
We remember those we've lost.
🐢 TIPSY TALKS
We encourage people to speak openly.
🐢 TIPSY LISTENS
We make sure nobody feels they have to struggle alone.
This isn't about judgement.
It's not about asking people to have all the answers.
It's about creating a community where someone can simply say:
"I'm struggling."
…and know that somebody will listen.
More information, activities and opportunities for local businesses to get involved will be announced soon.
Please follow us on Facebook and share this post and help us take the message right across West Lancashire.
Tipsy Remembers.
Tipsy Talks.
Tipsy Listens.
Let's start the conversation. 🐢💚
