We’ve been arguing over who the best member of staff was and that’s yet to be decided but we can safely say that this was our favourite bar man 😎 lovely to see him pop in on one of our final nights (but we didn’t quite get him behind the bar serving pints 😅)

Many moons ago our favourite Welsh lass Louisa started a friendship group for the retired in the village.

Each month they’d meet for lunch, tea and cake and have a variety of guest speakers, performers and sometimes do some arts and crafts.

A group enjoyed by lots of villagers over the years and would welcome anyone who was perhaps feeling a bit lonely, to pull up a chair and forget their worries for an hour or two with friends old and new.

Louisa really had a heart of gold and put her all into establishing this special group which brought lots of new friendships and a real sense of community to the village. We’re very grateful for all Louisa did to create this initiative and she’ll always be remembered here in Hertford Heath for her infectious laugh and big smile (and lots of jazz hands).

The group continued to meet for many years, even after Louisa sadly left us to go back to the Welsh valleys. Here’s a few snaps of some of the afternoons we spent together ☺️

You would have absolutely loved how the darts has developed (and we’re sure you’d be giving them a run for their money on a Tuesday night!) a great friend, gone too soon.

Here’s one very special New Years Eve where Jon was our DJ in 2019. Playing the funkiest of tunes at full volume like he loved to, we loved his energy and passion for everything he did.

Through all the different acts we had over the years let’s face it - they never quite topped Elvis.

Whether it was his black leathers for act 1, the white cat suit for act 2, the false sideburns, the finely applied eyeliner or his dancing moves we all loved him and here he is in full swing. The ones of him showing his Elvis Pelvis perhaps aren’t suitable for Facebook so have a twirl instead 😂 a true performer through and through.

One of my fondest memories involve pressing play on his intro music and watching him shoot through the door and straight into the cheering crowds.

He’d always bring the party and gave 110%. And the ladies seemed to love his white catsuit a little too much 😉

Great to see so many people we’ve met throughout the years. Thanks for all your support over our time here ☺️ and to our chief BBQ crew who pulled out all the stops for one last session 🥳🌞 very grateful to be surrounded by so much love and support.
