We're delighted to welcome Hell 'n Highwaters to The Cosmic Sailor tonight from 7:30pm.

Featuring John, Olly and Helen, this entertaining and quirky local trio bring together guitars, bass, percussion, uke, whistles and probably a few surprises along the way. Expect a lively mix of originals and covers, plenty of laughs and a great evening of live music.

It’s been a scorcher of a Bank Holiday weekend so far! ☀️🌊

The beach has definitely been the place to be — but when you’re ready to cool down, we’ve got you covered.

We’re open Bank Holiday Monday from midday until 8:30pm, with the air conditioning on, a nice cool bar, refreshing drinks pouring, and outside seating available with the sunshade down.

So whether you’re coming off the beach, wandering the seafront, or just fancy a relaxed Bank Holiday drink, pop in and cool off on deck. ⚓🍻

Bank Holiday weekend by the sea? Yes please. ☀️🌊🍻

With the sun shining and Herne Bay doing what Herne Bay does best, we’re open today until 10pm for proper pints, relaxed vibes and good company.

Tomorrow we’re open from midday until 8pm, and on Bank Holiday Monday we’re staying open longer than usual — midday until 8:30pm.

Make the most of the sunshine, wander down to the seafront, and come and see us on deck. ⚓🍺

You’ve absolutely captured what we were trying to create with The Cosmic Sailor — somewhere relaxed, welcoming, a little quirky, and full of character. It means a lot to hear such positive feedback, especially from someone visiting so many great micropubs along the way.

It was a pleasure chatting with you, and we’re really glad you enjoyed the beer selection, atmosphere, and the little nautical and cosmic touches around the place.

Today I’ll be heading over to Whitstable, Chestfield & Swalecliffe, and Herne Bay. Whitstable is famous for its oysters and working harbour, Chestfield & Swalecliffe are known for their coastal setting and the historic Chestfield Barn alongside one of the oldest golf clubs in England, and Herne Bay is well known for its traditional seaside charm and iconic pier.

I’ll be visiting a number of micropubs and pubs throughout the day to see what the area has to offer.
