We're Hiring! - Join Our Team at the Koi Cafe!
We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable team members to join our Café team in two key roles, Back of House (BoH) and Front of House (FoH). Whether you're starting out in hospitality or looking to build on existing experience, we’d love to hear from you!
☕ Position 1: Café – Back of House (BoH) Assistant
Contract Type: Zero Hours (Temporary)
Age Requirement: 16+
Availability: Must be available to work weekends and school holidays
Start Date: Immediate start preferred
✅ No experience necessary – full training provided!
💼 Role Overview:
As a Back of House Assistant, you'll be supporting the kitchen team to deliver a smooth, safe and clean food operation that helps keep our customers happy and well-fed. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a kitchen environment, with plenty of training and support.
🧑🍳 Key Responsibilities:
-Assisting the chef with basic cooking and food preparation
-Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
-Washing up, sanitising surfaces and ensuring food prep areas are always clean
-Portioning food and preparing items for service
-Labelling and storing food correctly according to food safety guidelines
-Completing necessary daily records (e.g. temperature checks, cleaning logs)
-Monitoring stock levels and restocking fridges, freezers, and dry stores
-Assisting with stock rotation and waste management
-Supporting with food service during peak periods
-Following all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene procedures
⭐ Ideal Candidate:
-Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment
-Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
-Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate preferred
-Previous kitchen or food handling experience is beneficial but not essential
-While this is a temporary zero-hour role, it may lead to longer-term opportunities depending on performance and business needs. We’re always on the lookout for people who show potential and initiative!
🧋 Position 2: Café – Front of House (FoH) Assistant
Contract Type: Zero Hours (Temporary)
Age Requirement: 16+
Availability: Must be available for weekends and school holidays
Start Date: Immediate start preferred

💼 Role Overview:
As a Front of House Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face of the café — welcoming customers, serving food and drinks, and ensuring a clean, efficient and enjoyable experience for all our guests. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives under pressure, and brings positive energy to the team.
☕ Key Responsibilities:
-Preparing and serving a range of drinks including hot beverages (barista-style), cold drinks, and alcohol.
-Greeting and interacting with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
-Taking orders accurately and using the till system for cash and card transactions
-Handling customer payments and giving correct change
-Ensuring food and drink is served promptly, neatly, and to café standards
-Monitoring stock of consumables (cups, milk, coffee beans, etc.)
-Restocking fridges, condiments, and service areas
-Clearing tables, cleaning surfaces and keeping the café tidy at all times
-Supporting daily and end-of-day cleaning and close-down procedures
-Adhering to all hygiene, food safety, and licensing laws
-Supporting with basic food preparation during busy periods (e.g. plating, toasting, or garnishing items)
⭐ Ideal Candidate:
-Friendly and approachable, with a customer-first attitude
-Good communication and time management skills
-Able to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently as part of a team
-Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
-Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate preferred
-Previous barista, café or hospitality experience is beneficial
-You’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for families visiting Bermuda Falls, and be part of a team that helps make each guest experience memorable.
