Packed full of quaint charm and quirky corners beneath its C16th wooden beams, The Fleur is a cosy haven in the winter and an extensive paradise in the summer. Whether it’s a smiling face behind the bar or the cosiness of a roaring log fire, we think you should feel like you can stick around for as long as you like. It’s not a gastropub. It’s not a restaurant. It’s not a bar & kitchen. The Fleur De Lys is quite simply a quintessentially English country pub full of old world charm, and that’s just the way we like it.

It’s fair to say we had a fiendishly good time last night!

We’re indebted to , , The Real Human Beings Band, , Event Flame, for helping pull off another frighteningly good event.

But most of all thanks to all the families and folks who braved the cold & fog to come and have a bit of spooky fun with us. We were delighted to see so many happy faces in the crowd & you’ll be pleased to know that planning for next year is already underway!

Happy Halloween! Oh boy, have we been looking forward to this all year!

Our plan for today is:
10am - 12pm: coffee & cake from lovelanebrownies
12pm - 3pm: usual lunch service
3pm - 6pm: site closes for event setup
6pm: gates open for ticket holders only
7.30pm: fireworks
And then…dance dance dance the night away!

Looking forward to seeing you for whichever stage of the day you’re able to join us for.

It feels like I really missed a trick the first decade we were here by not fully embracing the 500 years of history this building has, not least because it was, in fact, a mortuary at one point.

Luckily our clever & creative management team have stepped in to make sure no surface goes undecorated this Halloween. Abbie has been constructing a smorgasbord of creepy outdoor adornments, Katie has been decorating our dozens of pumpkins and of course Gemma & Charlie have really gone to town inside the building so that there’s something to look at whichever way you turn.

It’s all here for you to enjoy until the end of the weekend, so even if you can’t be with us on Saturday night as our ticketed event is at max.capacity, we know you’ll want to pop in for a pint and a nose around.

Have you seen? There are lots of magical things coming up at The Fleur in just a matter of weeks! We’re stocking up on mulled w**e & baking mince pies to keep all our creative Christmas crafters well fed and watered at our Festive Workshops next month.

We’re so excited to have & back in the house, as well as welcoming for our just-launched Christmas wreath collaboration.

These gorgeous evenings are perfect for low-key staff parties, for catching up with pals before the year ends or just for carving out a little slice of time for yourself before the madness of December kicks off.

Is September sunshine your favourite, too?

It’s been a bit of an Indian summer this week & we love that people are still getting use out of the b**r garden. AND, most excitingly, the canal appears to be open again! So good to see narrow boats drifting past at the bottom of the garden once more.

This coming week we’re launching a new menu refresh and ramping up prep for our Halloween Fireworks Spectacular…oh, there are less than 100 tickets left for that if you were thinking about coming, by the way.

Well, that’s another week completed here at the Fleur De Lys, taking the total up to 648 weeks since we got the keys to this place back in 2014. Time flies when you’re selling pies! And burgers, obviously.

This week does seem to have gone by in a flash, though. September is a funny month catching up with the carnage of the summer but also having to go full steam ahead on planning for autumn and Christmas. It’s a real whiplash, we can tell ya!

Anyway, thanks so much for keeping us busy and stand by for the big Fireworks Night Ticket Drop on Thursday…we’ll show those Oasis lads how to sell tickets properly 😜
