Packed full of quaint charm and quirky corners beneath its C16th wooden beams, The Fleur is a cosy haven in the winter and an extensive paradise in the summer. Whether it’s a smiling face behind the bar or the cosiness of a roaring log fire, we think you should feel like you can stick around for as long as you like. It’s not a gastropub. As we step tentatively towards the end of summer, we're excited for the events coming up here at the Fleur De Lys over the next couple of months, including a couple of things we've never tried before but think you'll love!

🎀 Mon 7th Sept: Dads and lads unite for an evening of beer and braids! Join hair guru Emily Smith from Hair at Hatton for a crash course in ponytails, plaits & how to get your daughters back-to-school ready without pulling out all their hair.

🚲 Thurs 10th Sept: Bike enthusiasts can start and end a guided cycle ride at The Fleur, riding through the beautiful Warwickshire countryside with Matt from Un-Boxed Adventures before enjoying our delicious award-winning pies for lunch.

💻 Mon 5th Oct: The PR powerhouse known as Chalmers News PR returns to The Fleur this Autumn for an evening workshop guiding small business owners through the optimal techniques to get businesses featured and stories picked up in the press.

👻 Sat 31st Oct: Join us for our annual spectacle of fireworks, fire eaters, fire performers, fiery food and er...live music. We've got all sorts of spooky and spectacular fun lined up, tickets go on sale from 1st October so don't forget to put a reminder in your calendars now!

This one is for the history buffs and nerds out there! Whilst researching something completely unrelated, I was filled with joy to stumble on this piece in the Leamington Courier from 1985. Can you spot your favourite Lowsonford beer garden amongst the village's other landmarks and legends?

We didn't realise how lonely we'd feel without the passing trade of the canal, but it's been a couple of weeks since our stretch of the Stratford-Upon-Avon canal has been closed due to the drought. We're missing the gentle hum of engines as the boats float past, the sound of voices wafting along the cut, the calls of salutations of boaters passing in the lock...

We can't imagine how many summer holidays were spoiled or boaters stranded whilst the poor old canal network struggled, but we sure will be glad when everything goes back to normal!

We're bringing the zoo to Lowsonford this weekend!

Alright, alright, it's a small animal petting zoo, but our youngest patrons will have the opportunity to cuddle up to and learn all about a variety of little critters, from the cute and furry to the strange and slimy!

Lessons were learned this morning about attempting to walk and talk in 30 degree temperatures but never mind! I made it to the pub without melting and YOU lucky people get to have another Storytime With Emma to pass the time until you're allowed to come and sit in the beer garden.

We're so excited that Nature Makers Solihull are joining us this Saturday! Here's a glimpse at what the kiddos can expect this weekend:

🌿 Nature Makers Craft Session 🌼
Step into a world of colour, creativity and wild imagination. In this hands-on nature craft session, children create magical keepsakes inspired by the outdoors — joyful, tactile makes they’ll treasure long after the day ends.

They’ll head home proudly carrying:

A pencil case printed with hammered flowers, each one a tiny botanical artwork.

A shell or stone painted with rich acrylic colours, perfect for pockets or windowsills.

A nature wand & leafy crown, decorated with flowers, ribbons, fabric scraps and woodland finds.

A sunflower print on card, made using leaves and bubble wrap for gorgeous texture.

A nature imprint on clay magnet, capturing the delicate shapes of leaves, petals and forest treasures. Take home to dry & paint.

Over the course of 2026, this little corner of the Fleur De Lys has played host to some really brilliant, intimate events.

Every month Tricia Rosas Music invites freelancers, small business owners & work-from-homers to join us for a co-working day that always ends in new connections & a lot of loud laughter. The next date for anyone who wants to bring a laptop & a to-do list is 29th September.

But we’ve also had really insightful brand workshops from smallbizbrandstories and a PR masterclass from Chalmers News PR (another is on the way the evening of 5th October!). We had the honour of hosting local author annabykwriter on World Book Night and now we’re ready to think about who else could fill this little cranny as we head into the cosy months.

If you’ve got an idea for a workshop, or if you need a venue to host a meeting, a committee or a social, then now’s the time to grab a spot in our diary. We like giving this pub purpose beyond pies & pints, we love having something to look forward to and we absolutely adore showcasing & supporting likeminded small businesses.

Don’t forget we’ve got Crazy Kiln joining us this Saturday morning for pottery painting with the kids as part of our Summer Camp series!

If you need a reason to get out the house, come and fill the time here at the pub. You can drink coffee and eat brunch whilst they create an artistic masterpiece with a summery themed figurine, they can play in the garden for hours afterwards or take a nature walk down the towpath, and you can all enjoy a spot of lunch together.

We are back open, woo hoo!

With plenty of things to catch up on and very little time to edit this, here’s your Latest From Lowsonford as we head into our first Summer Camp workshop with this Saturday. There are still some tickets available so pop over to the Events page of our website if you need a last-minute idea to kill time with the kids this weekend.

And if you could all manifest that no more utility calamities befall us, we would be really grateful for that too!

UPDATE: we still aren’t connected so we’re very sorry to say that we won’t be able to open at all today. 😢 Apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment caused. Hopefully we’ll see you again soon…!

Afraid to say we can’t open at the moment as the pub still remains without water. The ST team are working hard to try and fix the fault and we hope to be back up and running in the next few hours, but they’re unable to give us a specific timeframe at the moment.
