Fleur De Lys, Lowsonford

Fleur De Lys, Lowsonford A beautiful village country pub on the Stratford canal, famous for pies & bursting with character. For us, a lovely country pub is all about the atmosphere.
(1354)

Nestled in the picturesque village of Lowsonford, on the banks of the Stratford Canal, between winding country roads that used to be part of the Forest of Arden, The Fleur De Lys is the very best kind of country pub. Packed full of quaint charm and quirky corners beneath its C16th wooden beams, The Fleur is a cosy haven in the winter and an extensive paradise in the summer. Whether it’s a smiling

face behind the bar or the cosiness of a roaring log fire, we think you should feel like you can stick around for as long as you like. It’s not a gastropub. It’s not a restaurant. It’s not a bar & kitchen. The Fleur De Lys is quite simply a quintessentially English country pub full of old world charm, and that’s just the way we like it.

It’s time for the FleurFest edition of the Latest From Lowsonford: a series of yapping videos that absolutely no one asked for.

All the key points you need to know if you’re thinking of joining us on Saturday. Forgot to say: glitter, disco themed attire and general festival aesthetic vibes most welcome, too.

Quite tired from unraveling bunting for 3 hours that it turned out didn’t need unraveling, so if I’ve forgotten to say something or you’ve got questions, just pop a question in the comments.

Did you know that most small businesses are held together by hyperactive humans who keep on having ideas bigger than their brains can handle and end up in a snowball effect of “what shall we do next?”

Anyway, totally unrelated, but FleurFest is on this Saturday. Hope to see you there. 🙃

Possibly niche and almost certainly too late in the day, but does anyone know of any Ice Cream Vans who might be available this Saturday, 20th June? We're continuing to manifest ice cream weather for FleurFest, so it'd be great if Mr Whippy (or similar) could turn up for the afternoon.

Give us a shout in the comments or email [email protected] if you've got any great ideas.

In case you were wondering what all this “FleurFest” nonsense is about, here’s what you can expect in our garden next Saturday, 20th June. Bring your boogie shoes, baby, it’s going to be a banging afternoon!

Listen, we’re not above burying a sausage to ensure we get good weather next Saturday for FleurFest, but even if it chucks it down can you please promise to cone and have a dance in the rain with us?!

Give a shoutout to anyone you want to boogie in the beer garden with. We’ll see you on 20th June!

From today, the road between Shrewley and Lowsonford (Narrow Lane and New Road) will be closed whilst Severn Trent renew the old pipework. There'll be lovely yellow diversion signs pointing the way out of Shrewley, through Rowington and down Mill Lane because we are open as usual, so don't let an extra five minutes drive through the countryside put you off 😉 This diversion will be in place for the next 7 weeks.

We're also relieved to say that after further consultation with Severn Trent, the works that were planned for our stretch of Lapworth Street in August have now been postponed, so we will remain open throughout summer. Thanks to everyone who got in touch with us to offer support and, of course, to the ST team who came out to meet with us and address our concerns.

If, like us, you’re having A Bit Of A Week then this is the sign you’ve been waiting for to press pause on life for just a moment.

The Fleur has borne witness to five centuries of folks trying to get a handle on this thing called life. For 500 years people have found refuge within these walls from whatever it is that keeps them up at night. In today’s world, we’ve got plenty to worry about, but just know that whenever you visit us, you’re welcome to leave your worries at the door and take the chance to switch off for a little bit.
