We also want to give Agnes Spraggs a massive thank you for her kindness and loyalty to not just the pub but to us as a family. Your one of the hardest workers we know and everyone loves you. 💖💖💖

Well its official, we handed back the keys for the Argyll bar today, it will not be opening back up for a while at least. I'm not gonna go into the details, but we had a tough decision to make, not one we wanted to make, but that's it done now.

We want to thank absolutely everyone that supported us, and to all our regulars, and occasional visitors we owe you guys loads.

For every quiz team that had that one person who would show up and convince you that your correct answer was wrong, thank you

For every person that came to play bingo, with the Hope's of shouting "HOUSE" only to be beaten to the punch by that jammy (insert favourite swear word here) every time. Thank you

For all the poker folks that came down every Wednesday and Sunday, hoping to win it all, only to be put out early by an idiot call or a terrible river card. Then prop up the bar going into every detail of how you should have won, and how unlucky you where to bar staff that knew nothing about poker. Thankyou

To every fantastic singer that joined us for karaoke, and also the ones that thought they were robbie William's at knebworth, but sounded like ozzy Osbourne shouting in his house. Thankyou

To all the questionable dancers, and dodgy tune requesters that joined us on a Saturday night. Thankyou

To the folks that came in from tenable till the chase every day. Thank you.

To all our sports fans who followed the 6 nations, the football, the tennis and more, who shouted, screamed, and even shed the occasional tears. Thankyou

To everyone else that visited our happy little pub. Thankyou.

And to all our staff, current and past. We could not have done this without you. You have been amazing, hardworking, and a great bunch of people to be around. Thankyou.

Me and Emma took on the Argyll almost 5 years ago, it's been a challenge at times but it has been an amazing journey, it's a shame it had to finish this way.
The Argyll was a great pub to be in and that was because of the people it attracted, I'm a firm believer that it's the customers that make a pub great, we may have ran the Argyll, you guys are who made it what it is.

We started the pub with, a good bunch of friends, and a lot of customers, as we close the doors we may not have anymore customers but we have a hell of a lot more friends than what we started with.
Thankyou to everyone, we love you all.

P.s anyone looking for a reliable, hardworking guy who is always got a bit of banter get in touch 😀👍

We'll see you lovely folks of Helensburgh around. Take care guys.

Well first it was hand sanitizer, then bog roll, then pasta and now it's the pubs. As from tomorrow all pubs across the country will be closed, but we have one last night so let's make the most of it.
If you're about tonight, we are OPEN till 1am, we got karaoke and we WILL be trying to clear our stock so you might grab a deal or two.
It is a sad day, but we're hoping to have one last cracker of a night before the taps stop pouring. Come down and give us one last song before you cant.
And if we dont see you tonight we WILL see you whenever the pubs are back.
Stay safe folks, all our love 💕💕💕

Hi everyone hope you're all well
As everyone is aware there's a bug going about so as footfall goes down and the uncertainty of what may happen next looms we have made a few decisions that we should let you all be aware of.
As of today our opening times will change. We will now open from 2pm mon-fri and 1pm sat-sun. We will be closing at 10.30pm on a Tuesday and Thursday
We will be holding less stock than usual, so we will be focusing mainly on keeping our more popular brands in stock, and we will be looking to shift some of our more specialist products at a reduced price over the weekend. This is to keep costs down, try and maintain cash flow and so if the worst does happen we're not holding a lot of stock.
We will be reviewing our entertainment in the pub on a daily basis, but I can tell you that tonight will be the last karaoke for a while, and bingo on a Tuesday night will also be cancelled until further notice. We will keep you posted on the quiz and poker nights.
Finally, thank you to everyone that has been in touch with us over the past week or so, your words of support, your offers of help and all the rest of it has been amazing and quite emotional at times. It's in times like these when you realise how kind, helpful and supportive the people in the world can be. I want to also say a massive thankyou to the wonderful staff in the Argyll too, you guys have been amazing throughout this whole thing, as you usually are.
We are planning on sticking around, the Argyll will not close until it is the only option left, and when everyone gets out from being grounded off boris we'll have a party, a sing song and a good old natter.
Through all this, try and stay calm, dont let the fear in. Follow the governments guide lines, support your local businesses as much as possible (the big guys will still be about after this) help your neighbour's and if you dont know them, find out who they are. Times will get tough but remember they are tough for everyone, try to be kind, loving and supportive and if we all behave like this we'll get through it.
Our nation, our grand parents, and our history shows that in times of trouble we will survive. We will come out the other end stronger and hopefully the things that have divided us in this country won't seem so important afterwards
Stay safe folks, and we'll see you all soon.
Cheers the Argyll ✌
