The Atchley & Coronation Cups were contested for on Saturday. It is mixed foursomes medal where ladies invite their gentleman playing partner.

Both the trophies - Atchley (nett) and Coronation (gross) were won by Andy Hull & Wendy Melville.

Brian McCully & Clare Strong were runners-up for the Coronation Cup, whilst Christine Kernohan & Chris Wallbank were 1st in the Atchley with Patricia Maxwell & David Quickfall as runners-up.

Massive congratulations to the Captains’ nominated charity of the year, Finley's Touch, who have won the itvmeridian Regional Fundraiser of the Year at The Pride of Britain Awards!

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition for everything you have achieved, and continue to do, supporting children with cancer.

We are absolutely delighted to share that Nicky and Ben have won the itvmeridian Regional Fundraiser of the Year at The Pride of Britain Awards this afternoon.

As the founders of Finley's Touch, their journey has been nothing short of inspirational. Finley's Touch was established following the heartbreaking loss of their son, Finley, who passed away from a form of leukaemia in 2021.

Since then, Nicky and Ben have shown extraordinary resilience, determination and compassion, transforming their grief into a charity that has touched and supported so many lives.

As trustees, we could not be prouder of everything they have achieved. It has been a genuine privilege to play a small part in this remarkable journey and to witness the incredible impact Finley's Touch continues to make.

This award is a truly deserved recognition of their dedication, hard work and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Congratulations, Nicky and Ben! We are immensely proud of you both. 💚 What an award to win during 🎗️

It’s a three-peat! 

Congratulations to the Haywards Heath SLOGG (Sussex League of Gentlemen Golfers) team who’ve won the trophy for an unprecedented third year in a row, beating first-time finalists Nevill GC 4 ½ - ½ in yesterday’s final at The D**e.
 
The Sussex League of Gentlemen Golfers is a 4-ball better-ball competition for male golfers aged 55 and over, played between a league of 16 leading Sussex golf clubs. The competition involves 4 qualifying groups of 4 clubs who each play 6 matches (3 home, 3 away), the top 2 clubs from each group progressing to the knock-out stages.
 
SLOGG captain Graham Hollis said ‘’Nevill are a strong team who had reached the final comfortably in this year’s competition, so I couldn’t be more proud of the HHGC team who played yesterday. Every pair played magnificently and showed great fighting spirit against determined opposition to win their matches.  A big thank you also to everyone who came along to support us, which was a great encouragement to all the players’’.

Can our Sussex League of Gentleman Golfers (SLOGG) team make it 3 in a row? They are chasing an unprecedented 3rd consecutive win after lifting the trophy in 2024 and 2025. Our opponents in the final are Nevill GC.

The match will be played this Wednesday at The D**e GC, first tee 1pm. The weather is set fair, so please come along and support the team if you have the afternoon free.

Amazing day at HHGC today for the Captain vs Vice Captain match. The Captain’s team triumphed 24-15. The result was not important - it was fantastic to have 68 members out today. A great day!

The Brett Salver was also presented to Luca Piani and Domas Eidukas for their Brett Salver win in August.

Congratulations to HHGC members Sue Will and Jacqui Sexton who scored a magnificent 40 stableford points to beat 86 pairs and win the R&A Coronation Foursomes Regional Qualifier. Sue and Jacqui are off to the Grand Final at St Andrews in September !

Our Juniors have had a successful Summer, winning the West Sussex Golf Club Junior Team Invitation, at which Rory Lindfield won the individual competition too, plus our Juniors are Sussex Central League Champions and will compete in the finals next month.
Congratulations and thank you to all of our Juniors who have represented the club this year.
