This Sunday, 9th August, we’re marking a very special piece of maritime history.

150 years ago, Alfred Johnson completed the first solo sail from the USA to the UK, landing at Abercastle before continuing on to Liverpool.

The commemorations begin at Abercastle at 4pm, before moving on to The Ship Inn from 5pm.

At The Ship Inn there will be:
• Children’s storytelling
• Fish buffet
• Live music from 7.30pm

Come along and be part of a unique local celebration, with history, food, music and hopefully slightly calmer seas than Alfred Johnson had to deal with.
