After the success of his exhibition last year, we’re delighted to welcome Pablo Coatlicue Pablo Coatlicue back to S E E D with Part 2 of his remarkable series.
Recovering Treasures: Stolen Codices of Native Mexico – Part 2
Opening:
📅 Thursday 9th July
🕕 6:00 PM
This exhibition presents the first section of a collection of 20 paintings, each representing one of the 20 day signs of the Tonalamatl, the Mexica solar calendar.
The original codices were taken during the Spanish invasion and sold to private collectors. Today, they remain in the Vatican, with little hope of returning to their rightful home. Through these paintings, Pablo honours their legacy, preserving and sharing the powerful symbolism, stories, and wisdom they contain.
Join us to experience these beautiful works, hear the stories behind them, and meet the artist in person.
We look forward to seeing you!
