If you are looking for a challenging round of golf on one of the country’s oldest courses then why not come along to Seaton Carew Golf Club. Situated in the dunes just north of the mouth of the River Tees we have some of the best links land you could find in this part of England. With 18 holes designed by the legendary golf architect Dr Alister MacKenzie, and 4 more created by the renowned Frank Pennink, we have the ability to provide a supreme golfing challenge for players of all abilities. Founded in 1874 we are the 10th oldest golf club in England and our greens and fairways have been graced by some of the greatest golfers in history, including Walter Hagen, Harry Vardon, James Braid & J H Taylor, and more recently by the likes of Sir Nick Faldo, Justin Rose & Graeme Storm. The Club hosted the English Amateur Stroke Play Championship, otherwise known as the Brabazon Trophy, for the second time in 2014. Seaton Carew played host to this prestigious event for the first time in 1985. You too can follow in the illustrious footsteps of some great players and experience the supreme challenge of links golf, and once your own examination is completed you can retreat to the welcoming environment of our traditional clubhouse where a warm north-east welcome awaits. 'Doctor', our third hole, is not named after Dr Alister MacKenzie, despite being one of his finest holes on our links.

Instead, it's named after Dr Duncan McCuaig, the founder of our Club.

Winter brings unplayable conditions to most courses. Not ours. Our links drainage is exceptional, making us the ideal winter destination when other courses close.

There is no place at Seaton Carew for this lack of respect for the golf course.

Damage to a green and bunkers left unraked, with a rake within reach, are unacceptable. Every golfer deserves to find the course in a condition they would be happy to play themselves.

Our greenkeeping team work tirelessly to prepare and maintain our links. Everyone who plays here has a responsibility to look after it and respect those efforts.

Repair your pitchmarks, replace your divots and rake bunkers properly. Take care around the hole when handling the flagstick or retrieving your ball. If you accidentally cause damage, please report it so it can be put right.

Whether you are a member or a visitor, the expectation is the same: respect the course, respect the staff and respect the golfers behind you.

Summer's drought left our course scorched and yellow, but it's a look we actually quite like.

Alister MacKenzie designed our links with firm, running golf in mind, and over the past few months, the ground game has definitely prevailed.
